I live in Georgia where, for a large part of the year, you can almost slice the thick, humid air with a knife. Safety glasses and Plexiglass face shields routinely fog up, making it impossible to see what you are working on. Often I’ve had to choose between protecting my eyesight or completing my work, and my choices have left my precious eyes vulnerable. Now, however, with the Yardmaris chainsaw face shield, I don’t have to make suck risky decisions. The fine mesh metal screen is sturdy enough to block large flying projectiles from sawing or string trimming, and fine enough to protect from dirt and finer debris. Though protective, the mesh allows even thick, humid air to pass through, and it doesn’t fog up like Plexiglass, so you can have your work and see it too. (If you will allow me a little play on the old “have your cake and eat it too “ saying.) What a novel concept! The lightweight face mask sits on the head comfortably, and can be easily tightened with one hand. The mesh mask can be flipped up or down as needed, and two knobs can be tightened to keep it from slipping out of position on its own. The mask meets a number of ANSI and other certifications, and that gives me a level of confidence in its ability to protect my face and eyes. I’m always string trimming the yard, and I have a number of small tree cutting projects coming up, and I will face them feeling more secure about the safety of my eyes thanks to the Yardmaris chainsaw face shield!

I did not buy this mask because I cut down trees. I got this because I use a weed eater to mow my small urban yard. Occasionally, while weed eating, my weed eater will kick back a small pebble, grass clipping, and/or dirt clod at my face. Even with safety glasses, I have still gotten debris in my eyes. The mesh shades my eyes from the harsh sun and protects my face. It is super light and I hardly notice it is there which is surprising given it is made of sturdy plastic. When I opened the package it reeked. However, the smell went away after airing out for a few days.If you are like me and looking for a face shield for gardening work, get this and save yourself..My reviews are based on my experiences with the product, not on my status as a Viner. I never thought I'd be the kind of person to wear one of these arbor masks. Honestly, they always made me think of something straight out of a low-budget horror film — like I'd just stepped off the set of Friday the 13th as Freddy Meyers’ slightly less ambitious cousin. But then came the day I was battling some particularly stubborn weeds with a string trimmer. Every time the string hit the ground, it launched tiny rocks and dirt missiles straight at my face and they hurt. I tried regular safety masks, but they fogged up so badly I was basically flying blind.Enter this mask. I slapped it on, feeling like a cross between a horror movie villain and a DIY warrior, and suddenly I could actually see what I was doing — without worrying about getting pelted by shrapnel. And you know what? This thing is weirdly comfortable. It's not heavy, the forehead band feels nice, the adjustment dial is easy to use, and the mesh keeps my vision clear while saving my face from getting pelted. Sure, I look like I’m about to audition for "Friday the 13th: The Landscaping Chronicles," but honestly, I don’t even care.Bottom line: 9/10. Highly recommended if you want to stay safe, get the job done, and maybe scare the neighbors a little bit while you’re at it.
