I bought these after years of my wife making our stovetop look like a crime scene when boiling something. When she does remember to throw one in the pot, my life gets easier. Don’t know how it works and I don’t care as long as it keeps it up!

I love these. You don’t have to worry about water boiling over. When I switched from electric to gas stove I didn’t trust the ones that go on the top edge of your pot due to the open flame

We managed to break the glass pot minder I had used for 30 years. These ceramic discs look more durable and certainly work well. Here's to 30 year's use!

My pasta and potatoes don’t boil over. There is no change in food taste. It stays clean. Don’t know how it works but the results are excellent.

I use these all the time when cooking pasta or anything where the pot/ water might overflow and it works every time! Wouldn’t cook without them!

When other family members cook pasta or rice, I get to clean up the stove top for days after as the cook often walks away resulting in the pot bubbling over. With the pot minder my job is easier and there is almost no stove top cleanup.

I found the most gorgeous tea kettle, but it didn't have a whistling function. I searched for something that could be added to the spout to make it whistle, but found nothing. Then I came across this item, and now I use it in my pretty kettle.I wish it were loud enough to be heard around the corner in my living room, so I still have to be in the kitchen to hear it rattle, but it's still better than forgetting about your boiling water.

I’ve had one of these for years and bought these two to gift. They really do work! But don’t put the lid on your saucepan! Expensive as you can only get them in the UK from Canada via the States. Highly recommend.

OK, I have to admit, I feel silly writing a review about a puck of ceramic. But this JBK Pottery 10003 Chef Design ceramic pot minder actually works. We use it in our spaghetti pot (under the strainer basket). Since we started using it, there have been no boil-overs!Before we started using this, we had tried all of the usual techniques to prevent a spaghetti pot from boiling over. We tried vast quantities of olive oil, blowing on it, stirring it, adding salt, and changing the "order of operations". The olive oil kind of worked but made the noodles slippery. Stirring it and blowing on it work, but have to maintain a constant vigil. Now we just drop in the little smiling chef and 11 minutes later we have nicely cooked noodles (stirring once to prevent clumping). So the question folks may be asking is, "would a rock from out in the yard work better?" I don't know; after several decades of fighting with spaghetti, this little chef has won.Scott
