Bought this head for a 1980 Dodge Challenger because I didn’t want the MCA jets in the original head. One note: the rockers on the new head are aluminum with a steel pad for the valve contact area. Don’t know how these pads are attatched.

Came exactly as described. Their was a small amount of aluminum shavings in the head but nothing you can't blow out. I took the cam hats off to lube the cam and rockers. Install went well but make sure you take the pin out of your cam gear because it's built into the cam on this one. Also you'll need some 5/8 tubing for head guides with the block if your old head doesn't have them. All in all I've put 200 miles on it and checked the valve lash once and zero movement. Would buy again.

been using this for years no problem with it at all. fixed the cracking head due to the injectors even tho its a carb lol but anyways get your self a weber or something that doesnt use egr block off the coolant port there either metal studd, grind it, and make it look pretty or just make a gasket that goes over it with an actual gasket maker not rtv unless it can handle gas and coolant

I used an airgun to blow a lot of chips out of this part, also the edges are sharp and poorly deburred. My biggest complaint is that the circular packing to the rear of the engine is not installed or included. I did not realize this until the head was installed and leaking oil out the back. It was a real pain installing the packing with the head installed. Note this comes with mechanical/manual lash adjustment not the hydraulic lash adjusters that your vehicle may have come with. This is fine, just find a FSM that goes over the specs.

Although I have not installed yet I have used this brand more than 100 times in the automotive field. It's all brand new and at a price better than a rebuild. I have never had an issue with cific products they researched before they built yes they are made in China but the truck it fits was made in Japan in my opinion great bang for the buck. Thommyk p.s super fast shipping 3 days early woo hoo

I was surprised by the good quality for the money, I purchased this to replace my jet valve equipped "88 Mitsubishi Mighty Max 4X4... However I do have some gripes with the product, I don't mean to sound like I hate this or have anything aganist the company that makes these, I actually love the product but, so please if you buy this take this as a heads up WARNING: when I received it, brand new out of the box, well packaged in plastic bag with Styrofoam vary good, I discovered that the head had some aluminum shavings behind the rocker arms and around some of the ports, I also found some sandblasting media grains in some of the ports and in some of the areas inside the rocker cover area, so if you buy this head you want to go over this vary closely, or have your machinist do this for you, it might not be that bad on all heads that are sold by this brand, but I don't want others to waste their hard earned money on a fresh engine build, only to have to go in and do it all over again, because of some small aluminum shavings or grains, so if you opt to build your motor on your own make sure you inspect this head vary closely, the sooner the better, when it arrives make certain none of the shavings are on wear surfaces already like the cam/rockers etc, you also want to wear safety goggles/gloves/ear plugs/mufflers and use an air compressor blow gun, to get any grains or sand out of the hard to reach areas on this head, the next part is get a bright shop light and inspect for shavings in all and any ports/valleys cams rockers etc, in my case they looked like pig tails, with all this inspected and worked out, when you have it all installed in your car/truck/suv you then want to make sure you use non detergent oil that has a suitable zinc content or zinc additive to help break in the cam properly, for the first 2 oil changes of about 100-500 miles, and make sure that you adjust the valve lash 2 times once while the motor is cold and later after the whole thing is assembled, and when the engine is fully warmed up,In conclusion the head is vary good, after a through inspection and cleaning etc, and so far I have 500 miles into this rebuilt motor. I hope this helps you fellow MightyRam/StarQuest guys.
