I've had a lot of meters over the years and this is my first one to have the integrated clamp meter as opposed to having an external hookup for that. It is quality built and easy to set up and use. The documentation is well done as well. I recommend it highly.

I tried. I tried real hard to make heads or tails of the directions. I even own another clamp meter so a clamp meter is not foreign to me. I just could not figure out how to get a decent measurement on this meter. It seems not to be straight forward. Like the function dial has multiple purposes. The print of the directions was tiny, and it took extreme concentration to wade through it.I feel that they should produce a decent manual that approaches each reading that a person may desire to obtain, with a step by step procedure laid out in a 1, 2, 3, 4 that these are the steps you have to take to obtain this reading. And that the manual should be in a minimum, 10 pt type, and be in a booklet format.

I am, quite frankly, amazed that a meter like the "POROMETISTO Clamp Meter Inrush Digital Multimeter 1000A TRMS 6000 Counts, Voltage Tester - Inrush Current Meter" is available for around $80.As a retired electrician and hobbyist who likes to tinker, I've got a drawer full of meters that have served me well over the years. Some of them are even analog, and most of them haven't been calibrated since the Y2K Crisis, but they've gotten me by. I think only one is True RMS. This meter does everything my collection does (except for my "megger"), and much more. Having the ability to pick up one meter instead of three or four is a real convenience, especially if you're heading out and don't know what actual troubleshooting you might have to do.A "brand name" meter with the same capabilities could easily cost four or more times the price of this one. As I see it, this is more than adequate for the professional who would use it occasionally and, certainly, for amateurs like me.I tested all the functions that I have the resources at hand to test, As far as I can see, the accuracy is very good. Calibration is guaranteed for one year and accuracy specifications are all given in the manual. Operation is somewhat intuitive and the display is excellent. I especially like the fact that voltage and frequency can be displayed simultaneously, which is handy for generator work. The manual is quite thorough, although you need a little bit of technical knowledge to make full use of it and all the functions of the device, If you just want to check voltage or amperage now and then, this is really more than you need. But for skilled work, this is going to be your go-to tool.Time and experience will tell about the real value of this meter, but from all I can determine, it will quickly become a favorite of mine. I just need to be sure not to lose the instruction manual.

I'll just use this for at home, car, DIY type of work rather than a professional setting. This meter has all the capabilities that are spread out across my 3 older meters, so it seems this is destined to be the only one I'll use.I tested the most-used features and found no issues. The voltage reading on my mower's battery was the same as read from my old Fluke. I charged up my lifepo4 battery box, and this meter's current (loop) reading was very close to what my Uni-t clamp meter measured. I also used this meter to check a recently-failed capacitor from my home's AC unit, and the meter correctly reported the farads on the "fan side" and that the compressor-side had failed. The thermocouple measurement (something none of my other meters have) did read 3degF higher than my new home thermostat, but I wouldn't swear to the accuracy of the thermostat. The construction material of the meter seems of decent quality. I inadvertently did a "drop test" of the meter of 3ft onto concrete with no ill effects. The included soft case is decent and should do all that's needed to protect the meter from normal mishaps. One simple thing which I greatly appreciate is the use of AAA batteries rather than a 9v. I always have rechargeable AAAs ready to go, but not 9v. And the meter does work fine using those rechargeable (nimh) batteries even though they do have a slightly lower voltage compared to alkalines.I really think this is all the meter I'm likely to need.

This thing is loaded with all the features I could want in a multimeter. It does have a bit of that cheap plastic feel (and even smell) to it but it should hold up just fine without abuse. I really like this style of display - it's clearly legible and my aging eyes appreciate the high contrast. The automatic inclusion of frequency readout (Hz) when measuring A/C is a nice touch. I verified it was able to read inrush current on our air conditioner but it doesn't sample long enough to read the delayed peak with our soft-start system (the meter only captured 20A but the actual peak is closer to 35A).
