Great strings overall. I think they are perfect for drop tuning a half step down or for a slightly heavier standard tuned set. I bought them to try tuning a full step down and the skinny set is still a bit too light but it’ll work for now. Cleartone are my go-to brand for acoustics. They have a full balanced and rounded sound, not too warm and not too bright. They last a very long time too and sound great long into their life. This review is un solicited and just from my personal experience in over 12 years playing Cleartone on my three acoustics.

I fitted these strings onto my Taylor guitar. I have tried many types before, but this is the best result I have had. Very bright sound with great sustain.

Ive been playing Medium Elixirs for over 10 years. Cleartone now takes my money. By far the best acoustic strings out thee. Worth every penny.

I've been using Elixer strings for the past 10 years. I'll probably go back to Elixer strings only because, in my opinion, the tone is a bit brighter. I've been using Cleartones on my Taylor 614CE for the past few months and they have a wonderful, mellow tone to them. It's worked great for my bluegrass playing, but when I lead music on a Sunday morning I need a little bit more of a brighter punch. My friend who is a music director at a church switched to Cleartone's from Elixer's. He swears by them. I think it comes down to personal choice. You should add this to your list of "gotta try" strings.

These strings are pretty good for my purposes. I bought some of these on a whim a few years ago on the advice of a friend that worked at a music shop. I play as a hobby/obsession and I change when the strings are getting raggy and lose their life. I put these on and kind of forgot about them. About a year later I thought it was weird how long it was since I last changed strings. I thought it might have to do with me playing my other acoustic. Somewhere along the line I remembered that I bought some of these strings. I studied up on these after the fact, and I saw that some people thought these were too bright and liked the elixers better. I did not like the elixers because of the weird plastic feeling and that after a while, the plastic would kind of fray. To each their own I guess. The strings may be a bit bright depending on what your looking for, but I did not have a problem with it. My thoughts are if your looking for a long lasting set of strings try these. If you want the tone, you should probably stick with the regular strings without a coating.

I've been playing guitar for over 40 years and have tried every type of string there is. I had never tried these until now. I need a good kick in the back side for waiting so long. These have got to be the best strings made. They sound 100% better than any other brand I have used. They stay in tune better, note better, and just all around sound better. I've had them on my acoustic now for over 2 weeks, I tuned them and stretched them when I put them on. Played for about 2 hours. Started playing again about 6 hours later had 2 strings out of tune. Played the next day another 3 or 4 hours and haven't tuned since. Yeah, I know they're a little higher than most strings, I felt the same way till now. Like the old saying " you get what you pay for ". I will not buy any other string from now on. These strings sound just as good if not better today as they did the day I put them on.
