As stated above, chain will run if you plan on using the rear case half that comes in this kit.

Chevy GM NP246 Transfer Case Chain Pump Clutches Case Saver Filter Rebuild Kit provided by Transpart Co. Is the complete OEM transfer case NP246 kit. For rebuilding & replacing all the inside old parts with quality parts made in USA . The only problem in the kit was rear output shaft & rear output bearing transfer case cover didn't fit properly & limit clearance inside of case in chain area left no chain movement access & there is lite chain rub marks inside of rear case cover. Trk. didn't make it out of drive way in 2hi for test drive after hearing transfer case rubbing noise . After removing t.case second time & removing t.case cover defect marks inside t. case cover," so I ended up reusing my original t.case cover . So I want refund on rear t.case cover only . So Amazon , Please request & work this out seller Transpart Co...........
