After replacing the filter, I could not see the bottom of the container I filled with water. It had a chalky look and had a few black flecks. This picture is after running about two gallons of water thru the filter. Those aren’t bubbles. The water was clear again once I removed the filter. There were 3 filters and I only tried one.

The three refrigerator filter replacements came about since two of the three I already had seemed to leak. The last of the three held up fine. The ones in question here are replacements for the ones I already had.
