I purchased the Velvicut axe and it did not arrive with the upgraded sheathe as advertised, but with the basic belt buckle style sheathe. I would rate the product higher otherwise and am hoping customer service will be quick to resolve the issue.

Poorly forged, eye not lined up, butt not square, fairly sharp but man, come on guys.Handle is rough and look how it’s hung.This is supposed to be a step up from their regular line, so what’s that say about the rest?I tried to buy American and damn. What a shame.Go Swedish. Wish I had.

Great axe. It is very well made and has held up to several camping trips. Took a bit to get used to the balance. It is top heavy. Works great for small splitting chores at the campsite. Don't know if I would use it to limb a tree but it is a great all around camp axe.

Perfect for what I had in mind, fits inside my snowmobile trunk bag as well as my ice fishing back pack. While it doesn't pretend to be a full size axe, It gets the wood split and is not too big or too heavy to take along.

Incredible quality axe, but if i had to do it again i would get the longer handle length. I will likely just purchase that axe as well. MADE IN THE USA.

This is my third Council Tool Velvicut Hudson Bay axe. They are the best in the market space! Amazon had the best price, it was a no brainer. This axe now rides on my day pack in the Great North Woods of Maine. Check out the 100 Mile Wilderness at the Appalacian Mountain Club on the AT. It is a necessary tool.
