When I opened the box which only had 1 piece of flimsy packing tape to seal it shut, there was only 1 snowshoe inside and it was filthy! Returning it!

I've had these for about three seasons and so I've had a good chance to see them in different conditions. I like that they are lightweight and the tapered back edge is comfortable for walking. However, they cover less surface area, so the taper compromises the overall functionality for me if I am on new snow, because I sink more. These are great for well worn paths, though. I also find myself adjusting the bindings often due to them coming loose or my boot shifting in the binding. Overall, I would say these are decent.

Clasps come loose constantly! Would not recommend.

These are some very nice snowshoes. I purchased them for my mother who snowshoes a few times a week during the winter. They are highly adjustable which is great for strapping different boots into. They have sharp points which provide her with good traction even on ice. These shoes are also very lightweight. Yes, there are cheaper options out there, but these shoes will last for several years of hard use!

I've had these snowshoes since the end of 2011. I used them again this past weekend and wondered, "Hmmm, did I ever write a review for these awesome things strapped to my feet?" Nope! So here it is!These snowshoes are awesome. I can get in and out of both of them (with gloves on!) in under a minute. They have held up to lots and lots of miles, kicking rocks and very cold temps. I've hiked in packed trails and broken new snow in them and they've done wonderful on both. They're lightweight and so natural to walk in. Plus, I live outside of Boulder, so I kind of had to support the local team! The float may be a little less due to the tapered design, but I'll take that over waddling like a penguin!

I live in Vermont and was looking for a snowshoe that was lighter than my Tubbs that I could use for fast trekking/running. I was trying to decide between the Dion and the Crescent Moon. I absolutely love the bindings on the Gold 13. It is easy to adjust and my foot fits snuggly in place. The extra cleat is also very helpful. Although I haven't been able to try them out on a groomed trail yet, it worked well breaking trail in about 5 " of snow. I bought some lightweight running boots which work very well with the Gold 13. My snow running technique needs some work however. I still wonder if the smaller, lighter Dion might be better for running on groomed trails, but generally am very happy with the Crescent Moon.

I decided to upgrade, as I've been snowshoeing a lot the past few winters. These make all the difference. They are narrower, so easier to walk in normally, and light. They do a great job getting me through the snow and into the outdoors. I highly recommend them.
