This durable wrench for water filter housing is specifically designed for 4.5"x10" and 4.5"x20" standard filter housings (Note: 4.5"x10" and 4.5"x20" refers to the internal cartridges size, not the size of the housing).
The wrench features a maximum inner diameter of 6.38 inches and a tooth-to-tooth diameter of 5.79 inches, making it compatible with big blue housings.
You can measure the smallest diameter at the base of the filter housing. If it is approximately 5.55 inches , the wrench will fit.

Still unable to open?
- First, make sure the wrench is turning in the clockwise direction.
- Close the inlet valve and press the pressure valve on the filter cap to release the internal pressure.
- If it still won't open, it could be due to a misaligned O-ring at the top of the housing. In this case, turn the filter upside down, apply lubricant around the cap, and let the lubricant seep into the O-ring. Wait for 12 hours before trying to open it again.

Timely delivery. We have had several big blue-style filter housings for clearing well water over the last 20 years. This is the most solid (heavy-duty) plastic wrenches I have found. OEM wrench handles often break if the filter has been on a bit long. That has not been a problem with this wrench. Locks on to the housing ribs and doesn't bend or flex. Exceeds expectations.

Fits my water filter, but feels about the same as the one that previously broke. Regardless, it's a good replacement.
