I don't have any singing bowls but I do have an assortment of bar crystal (mostly wine glasses) that I occasionally use to make noise. I figured this might work with them. It does not. The rubber just slides over the rims of the glasses without "grabbing" to make them vibrate. Bummer.

So I really appreciate this little wand. I had a singing bowl and an ornate gong but my other wands are MIA. This is a thick glass cylinder with a wide rubberized coating to protect it. This also gives it a fantastic sound! I was not expecting the great carrying case so this was a delightful surprise. I lost the other wands, so hopefully this case will help me take better care of this one. Even if you have one, you may want to give it a shot because I feel like it improves the sound significantly.

Initially I was a little skeptical with this product, because It sheds material (little crumbs of silicone) until you've had it for a time. That said, this is a surprisingly effective instrument for making the "singing bowls" sound out. The silicone padding keeps the "crystal" style bowls pretty safe, but it does make using a brass style bowl less effective unless you want a mellow "round" sound which is easily achieved with this striker. The copy says, "Pure, Clear tone" and this is not an understatement in my usage. It does mean, however, that I want more singing bowls to experiment with this new striker! This also makes crystal goblets ring beautifully. The tube it came in is an effective storage container and keeps it safer. If you have crystal, glass, or ceramic singing bowls, this should delight. It does work with other substances, but not as well with the thicker metal bowls.4.5/5 stars really, it only gets 4 because of the lack of resolution in the rating and the silicone crumbs mentioned above keep it from 5 stars. I do recommend this!

I only have a bronze Tibetan Singing Bowl and this makes a nice sound. I'm looking forward to getting a crystal singing bowl because this is really cool. This comes with a protective case and is a nice product.

If you have an older singing bowl, it probably came with a wooden or suede covered mallet. This has a softer sound when the mallet hits or rubs the bowl. This soft silicone striker produces a mellow yet clean sound. Our glass bowl is about 16" in diameter. This mallet is the perfect size.Silicone has a habit of attracting dust and fingerprints. I would recommend keeping it in the tube it was packaged in.

This winging bowl wand is roughly the same length, but it's thinner than my other wands. The outermost layer is made of silicone. The wand comes in a sturdy cylinder box to keep it clean, which I really appreciate. Here are my findings about what bowls to use this on:- I tried it on Tibetan (metal) singing bowls, and it doesn’t work.- I tried it on the frosted crystal singing bowls, and it didn’t work (maybe they were too big?)- I tried it on some smaller alchemy crystal singing bowls, and it worked beautifully.I think since it is a thinner, smaller wand, it may be ideal for the smaller bowls, but I was able to get the bigger alchemy bowls to sing with it as well. No raspy sound like you get with the suede wand, just smooth and heavenly sound!

Has a fantastic weight to it and the silicone makes it fun no matter how you use it. The silicone gets rid of any obnoxious, high-frequency contact sound as the rod hits the surface. It works great in lieu of a mallet for all sorts of drums and auxiliary percussion. I even banged a bit on a cajon and it sounded more substantial and defined than my hand; since it's uniform, you can even use both sides for rapid, repeated hits. I was hoping it would make a crystal glass sing, but it's only useful for hitting the glass; it doesn't grip like a wet finger for a sustained note. I'm excited to try it on a hang and some other resonant surfaces. I'm a multi-instrumentalist and composer, so this is a great toy and tool!
