CURT electrical connectors are designed and manufactured to give you a reliable connection every time you plug in your trailer. This 6-way round connector is designed to supply power for tail lights, turn signals, electric trailer brakes, a 12-volt battery and brake lights, as well as a ground connection. It features durable die-cast metal construction and is a male-end plug, specifically designed for the trailer side of the connection. 6-way round connectors are commonly used on livestock trailers, boat trailers and utility trailers.

This connector seems to be of good quality and made of stronger metal than my original one. When it arrived it was missing 2 of the screws to tighten down the individual wires. These screws are VERY small, so I didn’t have anything close in my tool box. I was able to use 2 of the screws from the original connector, which were bigger which required quite a bit of force. Better packing inspection would had gotten 5 stars.

Brass terminals are hollow on back with tiny Phillips set screws to retain wires. Solder into sockets is possible with extreme care to prevent heat damage to insulator that holds the brass terminals. Use dielectric grease on plugs. Use anti-oxidation coating if wires are mechanically secured into pins using set screws. Use automotive RTV where cable enters to assist with water exclusion. Strong with two hooks to permit fingers to pull on connector body to unplug.

I previously bought a 7-pin to 6-pin cable for my motorhome. The 6-pin end connector, that fits into the towed vehicle, was terribly tight and very difficult to insert into the receptacle. I replaced it with this one that fits perfectly. No struggle inserting it. Moving the wires to this new connector was easy.

I replaced my 10 year old previous plug due to a stripped screw hole in a post. I ordered this and it is an exact duplicate. They have t changed a bit, and that’s a good thing. Solid construction. It worked perfectly.

Retaining screw stripped on connector fitting. Looks like it was returned and repackaged. Now I have to figured out how to drill out the screw and replace it...
