Line is the right size right quantity but wrong color. I want a dark green and the description said dark green got blue and bright baby blue at that.! As described in the picture, not impressed highly visible, and I did not want that!

I bought a 3000 yd bulk spool of the 40 lb J-braid grande x8 (island blue) on 12/18/23. It was back ordered so it arrived on 1/13/24 and I am just now spooling up some reels for spring. I used 40 lb mono for some backing so I tied an FG knot and served it by pulling tight. Surprisingly, I broke the braid but not at the knot. I thought I did something wrong so I tried it again and repeatedly broke the braid but never the mono. Granted, 40 lbs is breakable but it is not easy so I was suspicious and tied a loop in the braid and put it on a fish scale. It was a rough measurement but it broke between 29-30 lbs every single time. I tested it further by tying it to dumbells where it held at 25 lbs but broke at 30 lbs. It didn't break at the loop or the knot but in the middle of the line. I'm past the return window so I'm screwed with some truly garbage line.This is beyond a "bad batch" from Daiwa so it's probably bootleg. I'm surprised that Amazon will let this stuff be sold.

Five stars to the Daiwa J Braid x8 Grand but I took off two stars because I’m almost certain I received a returned spool of line . The spool was missing its protective cover and a frizzled end was taped to the bottom of the inside of the spool. This isn’t a cheap spool of line . I deserved to get what I paid for , a new spool of line .

Been using the x8 but the grand is a bit stiffer. Love j braid. It’s the only braid I’ve been using. On all on my saltwater reels.
