This unit is easy to install and set up ,the problem with it is staying connected and having clean clear music ,every time you start the truck the unit starts over from home page and you have to select exactly what you want to play.It connects to car play very well but if you are driving and streaming music it constantly skips the music sometimes constantly other times very little but I have a amplified system and when you pause 4k watts of music its shocking and makes me want to use it for target practice. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this unit. My son bought one against my opinion and his is dead after 3 months of using it also his backup camera wouldn’t work and his steering wheel controls didn’t work, it was installed correctly as it is plug and play …. Trash go with alpine ….

The only thing I had an issue with is that the head unit came with two different wiring harnesses, and they don't quite explain which one you need. By process of elimination, I figured it out, but the rest of it was easy. I put the head unit in my 2016. Tundra it was very simple and it is a awesome piece of equipment, much much better than factory. I also added a front view camera which really helped out.

I upgraded the head unit in my 2017 Tundra to this Dasaita G13 unit primarily for CarPlay. What I was amazed by was the ease of installation, the fit, and the incredible boost to the sound quality of my stock speakers. Similar head units are nearly double the price for the same features and functionality. The cons of this unit don’t outweigh the pros but I should let you know them:- CarPlay is wireless only and the audio will skip randomly.- Screen Brightness at night is too bright even at the lowest level. I get around this by using an app called Twilight that places overlay on the screen to simulate dimming.- The system audio gain is set a little too high (+10) by default. I would recommend turning this down to about +7 to prevent any issues with factory speakers.- Install manual is pretty straightforward but leaves you guessing at times when all you have is a picture or youtube video to reference.

Edit: I returned the unit because of four things that I couldn’t resolve and Dasaita was not responding.1. Static in background on everything. Ground wire was properly connected. Should not have this issue when spending this much in a head unit.2. The top and bottom 1/10 of the screen were unusable. The menu options on this part of the screen were impossible to press reliably. They worked intermittently and would trigger multiple presses.3. CarPlay and Bluetooth would not stay connected. In the two days I used it I had to reset the unit and my phones network settings 4 times just to get a connection.4. Tundra settings that were available on my OEM head unit were not anywhere to be found in this one. Specifically, the chirp the truck makes upon locking and unlocking was changed and I cannot change it back on the unit. OEM data is also unavailable contrary to what was advertised.Looks great and connects easily with my phone using CarPlay, however, it has a static noise in the background that I can resolve using the EQ or AMP gain in my Tundra.I tried grounding the cable as instructed but that did not help. It’s very annoying to have static noise in the background of everything especially at lower volume. My second issue is odd. My tundra no longer makes noise when the doors are locked and unlocked. I can’t find a setting to adjust in the head unit that would address this either. These might not seem like major issues, but for the price, I would expect better quality and functionality. They may also indicate future problems that could arise. Unless these issues can be resolved, I will likely return the head unit.

It fits so well into the truck, I would expect the software to work better. It loses connection with apple carplay constantly. I emailed the tech support directly from their website but no answer, so that’s not a great look. Wireless CarPlay is the main reason I bought it so I’m pretty irritated about it not working. If they have a fix, I’ll definitely update the rating. If they don’t, I’ll be returning it pretty quick.Updated: customer support did help out and got CarPlay and such working, some of the apps do crash so it’s not 100% on everything but for the stuff I use it for I’m pretty happy with it now.
