I recently bought my wife a newer SUV that had LED interior lights stock from the factory and I was blown away at how much better I could see and find stuff at night when the interior lights popped on. I have made it a mission to upgrade all of our older cars with LED lights to improve visibility when collecting our groceries or grabbing all the wrappers and trash. These lights worked in the overhead dome lights on my Jeep for the rear passenger dome light and I think they will work for my older Camry. They are bright white, not the soft yellow of halogen. Always remember to check the bulb number to make sure it fits. I have guessed wrong a couple times and bought the wrong bulb by trying to eyeball sizes. If these are the right size, they are a good choice.

In my estimation, these lights are about two to three times as bright as the incandescent light bulb I replaced (the photos might not be perfectly reliable as the phone’s camera adjusts exposure). I’ve come to expect LEDs to be considerably brighter than incandescents, and really wanted them to be, but there’s nothing in the product listing (aside from the vague “super bright” claim) that I can say isn’t being met.To that end, the 6000K color temperature is very white, and though I don’t demand that LEDs look as warm as conventional bulbs, this really is on the cold side – more out of place in the interior than in the trunk.I measured the current draw of one of these bulbs at 72.7 milliamps, which is considerably higher than what the ad says, 35 mA, but I measured at 13.8 volts, which is what’s likely coursing through the car’s electrical system when the engine’s running, not when it’s parked with the trunk or door open. More important, the incandescent bulb drew 356 mA at the same voltage, so the LEDs are more efficient, as expected, and won’t drain a battery as quickly if, say, a reading light is left on by accident.
