This machine was commissioned in 2018 and it shows a little previous love. That’s ok the inner workings work splendidly. The value of a machine with a couple of years on it versus new is outstanding. Buying a $8K workstation for sub &1K price tag makes this a heck of a value.Loaded Proxmox and multiple VM’s and this thing with its 72 threads isn’t even breathing heavy. Also 512Gb of RAM help everything operate smoothly. I did add a NVMe PCIE card and added 4 8Tb SAS drives to make this blisteringly fast and stable.

There was a little delay in getting the machine shipped, due to a person being gone at the office and UPS pickups were not scheduled for a couple days. Once she returned, the shipment was picked up that day and arrived a few days later. (I learned of this via a couple phone calls, each pleasant enough.)The server itself arrived well-packed and in excellent condition. It had installed higher-end CPUs than advertised - 20 cores ea. instead of 18, and a larger hard drive - 6 TB instead of 4. It's a lot of machine for the money and a great upgrade from the HP Z820 it replaced. Sound level is about the same, relatively low though like any machine it can get loud if heavily loaded.I added a pair of RTX 3060 GPUs for AI/ML inference and training, keeping the included Quadro just for console video. It came with what appeared to be some recent flavor of Windows installed. I expected no OS. I wiped the drives and installed Ubuntu Server 22.04. That's running perfectly.If anything changes, I'll update this review.

The product came exactly as described. The seller also added a few goodies such as wired keyboard, mouse and a wifi usb dongle. Amazon suggested a shipping time of over twenty days to my location in Canada with the free shipping choice. But they handed it next day to DHL express which took only two days to deliver to my door. If the device maintains its shape for a reasonable time, I will have no issues buying it again if needed.
