The house we built 6 years ago had 2 Delta European-style vertical hand shower rails in the main bathroom. The bottom end caps were bumped by the shower hose and the prongs totally failed over time such that the end caps would no longer stay in the shower rail tubes. Believe me - I looked. No other option but to get Delta replacements at $10 each. Upon arrival - yes - exact matches with Delta branding, made in China. So - - I figure China manufactures a zillion of these things and ships 'em to the US where they are warehoused. I'm guessing $0.05 worth of plastic and maybe $0.10 each when shipped in bulk by slow boat. I've no clue how they can justify the cost to the consumer - except that they don't have to.
