I don't have the official Fujifilm version to compare but this JJC adapter works great. Yes, the listing is unbranded but it's JJC! which is a good thing by the way. It does protrude quite a bit more on the lens than without this attachment, but it clears the screwed in filter threads from the closest movements the lens gets to it.As for the other physical aspects---Color: While the silver isn't a perfect match to the X100 series, it is really really close. If you inspect closely you'll definitely see the difference but to the lay person looking at your camera from a normal distance, you can't tell that it is different!Pattern: The pattern resembles that of the focus ring, but in a larger pattern size. I do wish it was a closer match but at least functionally this does not pose any issue and still looks like it belongs seamlessly on the camera.Size: This is probably the only part that can be a bit annoying, though it can also be a good thing. It is ever so slightly thicker than the barrel of the lens, so the original X100 series cap will still fit on it but will fit a lot more snugly. If your lens cap's felt pads are already worn down then this will be great as it'll be more secure. In the contrary though, it'll wear out the pads a bit quicker and when you remove the adapter the lens cap will likely eventually feel quite a bit looser on the camera. The alternative is to use a snap-on lens cap.But overall, this is a pretty great budget adapter that looks mostly the part and certainly functions the part.

I'll stand by the statement that this is better-constructed than the X100. It gives a very simple look and omits the bayonet lens hood mount - but let's be real; no one uses lens hoods with the X100 series. As a bonus, the 49mm female-to-female configuration also makes this a solution for people who are perplexed by the male front filter threads on the MS-Optics Sonnetar lenses. Well done!

Here's the thing about the X100V: you can't mount a filter - and to get it properly weather sealed you have to use one.Fuji, incredibly, wants to sell you an adapter ring to allow you to mount a filter - a simple metal ring that costs $49 and no one has in stock anyway.So I found an alternative with a third party for under $20 that included an adapter ring and a lens hood - the hood was, of course, optional in use.The problem with THAT solution is that the stock lens cap fell off. All the time. So I bought a cheap black plastic squeeze style cap. But I hate those.THIS, though, allows you to mount a filter AND uses the stock cap. Which does not fall off. Yay. It also looks REALLY close to stock (I have a silver camera and got the silver ring), close enough for me that it doesn't stick out at all as some weird add-on.Criticisms: it could, perhaps be a bit shallower - as in not stick out so much. Also, the cap feels quite tight on this - tighter than stock. Not sure if that's due to the additional depth or that it might be a bit wider (note to self: check with micrometer). While I love it being secure, I have a SMALL bit of concern that the felt on the interior of the cap will be overly compressed and might lead to it being loose on the stock camera with no adapter ring.But that hasn't happened yet - it's just in my head. I'll stop worrying about it and shoot - that way it's off anyway.

I didn't use a filter on my x100f and sort of knicked up the front, so this time, I decided to twy one out. The problem with the x100 is that you can't screw on a filter like most cameras, the threads are on the outside of the lens barrel. Anyway, this adapter has a threaded side to allow you to screw onto the lens barrel and then to screw the filter onto the other side of the adapter. The adapter looks a little thick which it srot of is, but the orginal lens cap for the x100 still fits! Now, there are those adapter that has the filter permanently attached to the adapter, or this type with the adapter a separate peice. This is better because you can attach a magnetic adapter to this adpater and use any sort of CPL, UV, whatever filter you need.

This looks nice and feel quality. The outside diameter is too large to fit my original lens cap. I purchased another x100 lens cap thinking it may be different. It was exactly the same size as my original cap.I wanted to like this but JJC let me down.

When you try to put a filter on a Fujifilm X100 series fixed lens, you have to put it on backwards or it will not function properly and cause error messages. For whatever reason or flaw in the cameras design, I don't really know, but it is very annoying.This filter is designed to attach an appropriate diameter lens without any fuss and it is the perfect fit and works well. I ordered mine in black but the brand offers it in a silver colour also. Great accessory. 5 stars.
