It is hard to gauge the size. It can hold a bottle of wine. LOL! The only downer is, if you're drinking wine (and care about these things), the lip is rounded, which is not ideal for wine. But, still, it is nice.

The Chalice itself is quite a nice piece. Food-safe and well-made of pewter. The "decorative case" that came with the product was, without a doubt, of very poor quality. The metal hinges had rusted and the velvety-like material used as a covering looked like it was put on in 3rd grade arts and crafts class. I just tossed it. That said, though, I paid the money for the chalice and it's very nice.
