Having got a few very mediocre pen blanks recently, with only one or two good pieces and the rest plain, I was a little reluctant to order these, but jumped in and bought 15 and I could not be more pleased. By far the best ans most consistent pen blanks I have bought to date.Every single one of them were top grade and actually better than described. Turns easily but being sawn at an angle are slightly chippy so you need to use very sharp tools and take your time with light cuts, but so worth the effort and I expected this and could not be more pleased. Finished beautifully and one of the best pens I have made to date. I highly recommend this supplier and will be buying more!

Beautiful wood. I had to use wood hardener because of how soft it was. But the wood changed into a beautiful amber tone once I used the hardener and I was back in business.

The wood splintered too much when turning. Calls for very careful turning.

I've purchased these before a number of times and couldn't be more pleased unless they were a little larger in diameter and length. They are 3/4" X 5" which is fine, but I prefer 1" X 6" anytime... New turners should note that you have to be careful when turning, trimming and use VERY sharp tools as these blanks as they are cut 'diagonally' which makes them prone to chipping/cracking when turned. If proper care is taken, they produce some very stunning results which are favorites of pen fanciers!

These blanks are very beautiful. The cross-cut really shows character. If you were to turn regular and cross-cut and put side by side, you will be amazed.
