I've been using much more expensive scales - Brecknell Electro Samson - and while pleased with them, they are bigger, more room in the baggage and more expensive. This scale measures just as accurate and a fraction of the price and much more compact.

Using it to weigh my cat. Weigh the cat crate. Put her in the crate, weigh them together. Subtract crate weight for cat weight. It also kind of tares, if you leave the crate on the hook when you turn it on it will read zero , (leave scale turned on), put cat in crate then weight will be just the cats. Helps to have a place to attach the scale or a tall strong friend to hold the scale while you do this.I tested the accuracy with various items with known weights, but within the range of a cats weight. My scale was accurate. I dont know how it would do for heavier items. Over all pleased.

Cool little fishing scale to pull out in front of your friends to look like a G and to put their 15 year old rusty scale to shame! It's good quality. Only wish I could attach a pic of me using it on a 30-inch red drum! Now I got a reason to go fishin!

I am a powerlifter and use a lot of band tension on the barbell. I bought this to measure how much band tension I have on the barbell. It's super easy to use and accurate enough for me. I just keep it in my gym bag in the box it came in and have had no issues with it so far.

It seems to work as advertised. I was surprised that, while testing it, the readout became "locked". That would have upset my plans for how I was planning to use it (torque wrench calibration). There is a brief mention of a lock function on the Amazon web page but no details. I went looking for documentation in/on the box for how to disable the feature but no documentation was included. There was a business card include with the unit with a customer service email address and a promise of a 24 hour response but I really would prefer not to wait. I went to the StrikeBait website and it is a work-in-progress at the time of this writing with nothing useful found there. I remembered seeing, while shopping for this thing, that competing products also mentioned a lock function and having seen in some of their reviews, that it could be toggled on/off using their TARE button. I figured that since most of these made-in-China products which share a common function but differ cosmetically also share a common set of electronics at their heart, so I stood a chance of the CLEAR button on this thing (equivalent to TARE) could also toggle the lock function on and off. I'm happy to say that it does if it is held for a couple of seconds. It responds with "L-ON" or "L-OF". The other piece of information that I did not see in the item's description that I'll mention here is that the included tape measure will extend about 39 inches out of the case before becoming too tight to extend further.

After reading hundreds of reviews of luggage scales on Amazon I despaired of ever finding one that was accurate and lasted more than one way of a round trip.I tried to find one that was made in USA thinking that would be more reliable, and somehow one of these fisherman's scales appeared.They had excellent reviews and a good price and so I thought why not?It serves the purpose just fine, extremely accurate, light and easy to use, and the hook for the fish does fine for the suitcase handle.

I bought this for my husband for Fathers Day and he loves it. It works good, as an accurate weight and lights up so you can use it when night fishing. The only con is that its not water resistant.
