I am used to paying way more for specialized bearings from my regular industrial suppliers. The lower headset bearing I was replacing was a pathetically inadequate assembly with its lower race made of white metal of all things (a low grade aluminum alloy). The replacement had to be adapted of course, by machining inner and outer shimming sleeves, but was well worth it, as it is of fully professional grade construction. It is worth noting that, although in the style of ordinary radially loaded ball bearings, its races are modified for thrust loading as well. A very specialized product of top quality and amazingly affordable cost. It all worked out perfectly.

Exactly what I needed for my bmx race bike with tapered fork (1.5” lower bearing). I’m also running the fork race adapter so I can use 1 1/8 non tapered fork on my later model tapered frame.
