I don't live in America so I shipped it to a friends address for her to bring over. Shipping takes two long as in weeks. She was gone before she received the order.I am hoping they are the old fashioned snorkels. There are two things I have always liked about the design both of which have to do with the mouthpiece. The ones with the purge valves are really heavy on the lower lip and gums. With the purge valves if you blow out the water to hard they tend to close up and your next breath still has the water. They have been known to break and people are half drowning. Having no moving parts means it will last you a life time unless you bite through the month piece, but that would take years and a lot of biting down to do break it.
