Your cart is empty.The oil filter adapter on certain BMW vehicles often leaks oil when its plastic housing warps from harsh underhood conditions. As the plastic eventually degrades from heat and chemical exposure, it can even crack from simply tightening the oil filter cap during oil changes. When it fails, replacing it with an OEM housing could mean the same issues again in the future. This upgraded Dorman OE FIX filter housing is made entirely of aluminum for a more durable replacement of the failure-prone OEM housing to help prevent future leaks. The housing comes complete with mounting gaskets for an effective repair. The kit also includes the oil cooler, oil filter element, and oil filter cap.

I installed this for a customer's 2017 340i with the B58 engine. Overall this is relatively involved job. But very doable with locking 1/4 extensions & 1/4 drive swivel e10 etorx socket. My customer ordered this from Rockauto because it was cheaper & faster to get than OEM. It includes the gaskets, bolts & oil filter. You should consider replacing the following high failure items while doing this job: intake manifold gaskets, coolant flange off the engine block, upper radiator hose, thermostat assembly & and any coolant fittings that are starting to brown.The reason I am docking one star is the six mounting holes are too large for the bolts. On the OEM unit, there are metal sleeves that allow the bolts to fit snug. And these sleeves do not work with the Dorman unit. The reason this is important is because there are no locating dowels or pins. So even with all 6 bolts threaded, the whole unit can move around slightly. Working fine so far. Made in China.
