Part was correct but the plastic housing for the lock actuator was deformed. After installing going power look function did not work due to housing not holding the internals securely. Had to use the internal parts in my old latch to make a functional latch.

Not an exact replacement for the OEM part for a 2007 Mazda 3 Hatchback front passenger door. It will work but requires modification of the part from removing unneeded brackets to opening up the plastic to remove the key lock rod that is not also needed on this car. Also requires taking the lock cable from the old part but this part’s lock is in a different location so the cable is about 1/2” too short to fit back into the cable bracket. Had to heat the cable jacket and stretch it to make it fit. Recommend looking for another manufacturer for a direct replacement.

I have a 2009 Mazda 3 and this part has a extra actuator rod that hooks to a door lock on the PASSENGER side that does not exist. Not the door handle, A door lock. This actuator will work on the passenger side but the rod will not be attached to anything. I just put a 4 in section of foam pipe insulation over the unused rod so it wouldn't bang around. The metal bracket is also unused. It's got one screw. Remove the bracket and forget about it. Lastly one of the only places you are going to find a door lock actuator with the one rod only to the door handle is in a junkyard.Rock Auto doesn't have them either.From what I've seen it's impossible to get outside the dealership.This lock actuator will work and it's not dealer priced.Good luck and follow my advice. Put something around the unused rod but don't secure so it doesn't move because it has to move up and down.It won't effect anything else.

I installed this on my Mazda 3 2007 passenger side, plugged it in, and it works great! No more telling my passenger to remember to lock their door or reaching over to unlock their door. Mazda's secret release pin inside the internal door handle made me pull my hair out but I looked up a youtube video that saved me from breaking the cheap plastic. Once I figured that part it, it was smooth sailing!

Worked well, but note you have to reuse the connecting cable to the lock from the old part.
