DSJUGGLING Fushigi Magic Gravity Ball

How Does a Fushigi Ball Work?

Isolation

  • This move keeps the ball suspended midair, making it look like a fixed point mime technique or something like the sleight of hand trick. The idea is to mask any obvious rotational movements made by the ball, by moving your hands around it, to make it look like it’s in one place, as you deftly circle it, keeping its motion unchanged.

Body Rolling

  • This means that you can roll either one or more Fushigi balls by letting it travel along the arms or body, or even your hands, without letting it break contact with any surface. This can look like the ball is in constant motion, gliding along your body on its own, as opposed to physically doing it yourself somehow.

Palm Spinning

  • This is used by including either 2 or 4 balls at a time, where hands mimic graceful patterns that allow the balls to transfer between one’s two hands, making it look like it were done using levitation, and not so much a physical thing, by the magician/person performing the trick.

What are the Special Features of the Fushigi Ball Compared to the Classic Contact Juggling Ball?

Fushigi ball

Special Floating Design

The Fushigi ball does not actually defy the laws of gravity. It is designed so that when it is moved with the fingers and hands properly, it creates an illusion of floating and moving by itself. In this move, jugglers roll the ball with their thumb and opposite middle finger. Then the jugglers use the other fingers to disguise the movement, which makes it seem like the Fushigi ball is floating on its own. All of these tricks are essentially rolling the ball along your skin and disguising the motions to make it look like the ball is floating.

Fushigi ball with Different Mirrored Feflection

Special Mirrored Feflection

Fushigi Magic Gravity Ball is composed of an internal metal ball contained in a transparent Acrylic ball, inner metal ball has a mirrored surface that creates a more interesting illusion when performing contact juggling. Fushigi's mirrored look creates more movement and creates a better floating illusion.

DSJUGGLING Fushigi Magic Gravity Ball

Professional level of illusions

The tricks each have different levels of difficulty required to perform them. Some of the easiest tricks are simple enough that a focused child could learn them in an hour or two, while some of the most advanced techniques take months to master. Hardcore Fushigi users spend years practicing and honing their craft, but you can get a lot of enjoyment out of playing around with a few tricks during your downtime.

My son was looking forward to this viral awesome ball, and after a week the weight seemed off and the ball was no longer “magical” as he said. Sadly disappointed that it wasn’t durable.

Inner mirror sphere has very noticeable markings, fogginess, and stretching all around the midline so you can clearly see where the two halves meet. Might be better off with a completely clear ball but it does the job.

I've never owned a Fushigi ball before, but after watching the video on the product listing, I wanted to try it!When the ball arrived, it looked a lot like the photos online. The photos do make it look like the dark center is towards the top of the ball and I'd wondered if it was water-filled and managed to stay at the top through some means like that, but alas, the dark center is the same size throughout and in real life does not appear to be at the top of the ball as shown. But aside from that, it is very similar. The inside is a dark shiny metallic ball and outside is perfectly smooth, clear plastic. The ball itself is very well made.As for using it, that's nowhere near as easy as the video looks! I used to do magic in my younger days and can generally make smooth, slight-of-hand types of movements. I juggle too and figured this ball wouldn't be a problem to figure out, but it's much tougher than I'd imagined! One of the problems I have is getting my skin to smoothly side across the ball. The ball is very smooth plastic, but my hands keep sticking to it. If I figure out how to get my skin very dry, it might be easier, but so far I've struggled with it.I'm going to keep trying to figure this out because if I manage to make it work, it would look extremely cool! The ball is an excellent design for this sort of juggling and I think it could be a lot of fun!
