About this item

  • High friction pad for better high speed stopping
  • Zero fade race developed compound
  • Brakes effective right from cold
  • Can be used on street or race track

The new EBC Yellowstuff compound is essentially a race pad but with a big difference in that it works from cold and can be safely used on the highway. If you want the ultimate in high friction braking this is the pad to choose. Brakes feel superb from first touch of the pedal and stay effective up to race temperatures. Maximum stopping is prime requirement and for short duration track use. Its dust rating is similar to OEM parts. All pads come with edge chamfers, center line slots, noise reduction shims and OEM hardware as needed. All EBC pads feature the EBC brake in surface coating which helps pads seat quickly after install.

It's the only brake pads that I could confirm fits my Turbo-X. There may be others, but I know these fit perfectly, and the yellow stuff are my favorite pads to run.

Car brakes so much better and harder that the back can't keep up anymore it's insane!

The price for these, shipped from the US, was better than the price from any UK seller. Also fit Saab 9-3 with the 345mm brakes (Turbo X, Carlsson and some V6 models)

Packaging was split and pads were loose and a bit beat up. Break in coating intact.

I have these installed on the fronts of my 300 WHP Mazdaspeed 3. Just some background, one of the best thing about the stock Mazdaspeed3 brake pads is they bite REALLY HARD... So hard that sometimes your shoulder would hurt from pushing on the seat belt, it's awesome. The pedal feel is also really good with just the right amount of force at your every request. If you're wondering why I just didn't stick with OEM's, the answer is they're expensive and fade incredibly fast. After only a few (at the most) hard stops they become pretty much mushy garbage. Since I drive rather spiritedly and do some occasional racing I needed something better. I've been on a search for brake pads that bite just as hard as OEM without the brake fade for quite some time. So far I've tried a Hawk HPS, EBC Redstuff and StopTech Posi somethings. All these pads had their good qualities (expect the Posi's) but all left me disappointed. With the Redstuff it was almost like I had to stand on the brake pedal to get any decent braking. They didn't fade over time like the OEM but they felt like a step in the wrong direction for a performance brake pad. They also had terrible brake vibration when hot (I tried everything to fix it). The Hawk HPS were an improvement, although they didn't provide the same bite they had decent grip with a good pedal feel. The bad was they were on the noisy side and had terrible high heat brake fade. The StopTech Posi-somethings were just terrible in every way. They lasted about 200 miles on my car before I tore them off and threw them out the window. All this fail finally led me to purchasing EBC Yellowstuff on a whim. Long story short my search has ended. While these do not provide the initial bite of the OEM pads (unicorn piss?) they provide better overall grip and a better pedal feel. These things stop damn hard and hold that same pedal pressure during the entire stop. Add a little bit of heat and things get even better. The best part about these pads is the brake fade is almost none existent, seriously... When I was doing the bed in process (10 hard stops from 60 to 10 mph), these pads just wouldn't stop biting. They held on just as hard from stops 1 to stops 10... I had to do an extra 3 hard stops to finally feel some pressure lose (my rear brakes were not happy). I've never had a set of brake pads that do this. Usually after the first 5 stops the pedal goes to mush. Needless to say my jaw dropped. These pads inspire some confidence, every time I hit the brake pedal I know exactly what's going to happen I'll get a ton of awesome sauce grip and 0 fade (insert satisfaction seal). The sad thing is these sat on my tool box for 6 months before I installed them. If I would have known how good these pads would be I would have installed them the day the UPS man left these on my neighbors door step (everytime...).Oh one bad thing about these pads is they produce a ton of brake dust (just like OEM's), luckily I haz the gunmetal wheels so it's hard to tell.

Swapped the OEMs out for these, primarily for autocrossing. The bedding procedure is a bit different, but once that was complete, these pads really came to life. They screeched a bit for the first several hundred miles but now you can't tell the difference between regular pads... Until you heat them up and they keep working! The only real downside is that they put out a lot of dust, but honestly I'll take that for a pad that works equally well on the street as the track.
