This is a great, medium-lightweight jacket. Perfect for spring and cool summer nights. The quality is outstanding and the style is classic. I ordered a medium, which is my usual size, and found it to be just a bit larger than I normally like. I decided to wash and dry it, and it shrunk just enough to be perfect. Because it has elastane in it, it won’t shrink much, but just something to be aware of depending on how the initial fit is for you. It does come out of the wash somewhat wrinkled (not terrible, and in a good “broken-in” way). I happen to like it that way. And the wrinkles come out easily if you steam or iron it. This jacket is perfect for wearing over a t-shirt or layering over a light sweater. It goes with virtually everything from jeans to chinos to shorts. It is one of those “wardrobe staples” that isn’t going to look out of style anytime soon (if ever). The cut is pretty standard - not slim/athletic but not too full either. And the color is a “cool off-white”. I happen to love that color because it is more versatile than stark white, but still has that summery, resort-y feeling. From the style, to the fabric, to the cut to the value, this jacket is a home run in my opinion.

This Amazon Essential Utility Jacket is well made.Let first say that there's nothing worse than good products getting bad reviews as a result of consumer blind buying and or their failure to read and understand the product description. And with that said this relaxed fit button down jacket is similar in fit and style to a chore and engineer jacket.Traditionally this style of jacket is unlined, lightweight and breathable and Amazon incorporated that into this jacket quite well. This jacket features welt pockets and like all welt pockets by design they're only attached at the top of the pockets in dress pants to ensure comfort, optimal pocket use unrestricted. The functionality and fit is excellent especially for the money. I own over a dozen of engineer style jackets in which most were 5 times the cost and unlike many of them this jacket by Amazon Essentials features adjustable wrist which is what I like most about this jacket.I'm 6'2" with a 33" waist and I'm a 43" chest but have skinny wrist. I'm a Size XL and more often than not I have to tailor the cuffs on my LS shirts and jackets. This jacket fits me nicely pre-wash and I imagine it'll be perfect after it shrinks bit. I normally prefer tailored fit and although this is a relaxed fit which is fitting fort this style of jacket it's not at all too boxy.Overall I'm very pleased with the cut, fit, material and price and would highly recommend this timeless classic by Amazon Essentials.

Looks nice on the outside, but not terribly welll solid or hemmed on the inside. Pockets are only sewn to it at the hole.Took it for a walk in the 50 degree range, with a bit of wind. Was like I wasn't wearing it at all. Zero wind breaking or insulating function.Might be a good summer jacket for a cool evening.

I'm confused why the word "stretch" is in the description, as there is nothing that stretches on this jacket. It's a plain and simple fabric jacket. The sizing is accurate for the chest but the sleeves could be a bit longer. The material is a good balance between thick and thin, it's perfect for spring and autumn. I should also add that the material feels sturdy and it's not water proof, but I think it could protect me from the occasional showers as it seems thick enough to absorb some water before letting it through. It's got two front pockets that are quite large, and two side pockets again quite large but without a zip. I would have preferred some sort of fastening on the side pockets as they are quite low and things could fall out quite easily. There are no inside pockets, even though it looks like there are. That is just the outside pocket. The design here is very unfortunate as it really looks like it's an inside pocket so when I put my phone in it, it fell right through and dropped on the floor. The buttons are large, and stylish. Overall I think it's a decent jacket, but it could improve in a few things to achieve 5 stars.

This Amazon Essentials utility jacket is made of a lightweight 97% cotton/3% elastane material. The cotton twill fabric is relatively stretchy, and it feels very soft. It has 2 side pockets, 2 chest pockets, and 2 inside pockets, but the bottoms of the 2 inside pockets aren’t sewn, so they’re not really useful. The dark olive color looks better than I was expecting, I’m very pleased! The size XL fits generously, relaxed in the chest, arms, and at the waist. The fit is roomy and non-restrictive, particularly in the mid-section. It’s somewhat boxy, it doesn’t taper at the waist, but it’s comfortable to wear. The sleeve length is just a tad bit short, as is the overall length. But it should be fine, as long as the shrinkage after washing is very minimal. The overall quality of this jacket is very good. I like that I can comfortably wear a hoodie underneath it, if I so choose. At around $43, it’s not a bad value. This may be an option that’s worth considering for some. It’s definitely a nice looking jacket.

Classic styling and well made. Definitely a relaxed fit so size down if you want it to be more fitted/classic fit.

Fits well, great solid colour and washes well. Great quality, easy to put on, goes with a lot of things - perfect item to just throw on to keep you warm on chilly spring evenings in the beer garden.

The jacket is a bit more stiff than I'd like, and I found the sleeves a bit difficult to move around in, but I understand it can break in as I wear it some more. However, it is made from very nice canvas material and feels extremely sturdy. The color is a very nice army green, and the other colors look even more perfect for that casual look and wardrobe. It's got nice pockets and is a bit larger than expected, so definitely expect that when ordering. It is fairly warm and feels to be effective in blocking some chill when layered. Furthermore, it's also quite weighty and is definitely heavier than your average light flannel by a bit. However, the price for this is incredible. It's on par with some high quality Japanese fabrics, and I can definitely see this last a very long time. The biggest worry I have with this jacket is the wrinkles, as it is very prominent out of the package. After a couple washes, I do not know how it will affect it, but I do sense the need for an iron to keep the look clean.

Fits as described, and the colour was like the photos. However, it looks a bit cheap, and the material wasn't up to the standards I've come to expect from Amazon Basics. It’s not bad at all, just not the amazing value I have come to expect.Quite a loose fit, and it’s not stretchy but claims to have stretch. It's a practical shirt for UK summer weather, would help protect from the wind and occasional shower.

This is a really nice looking men’s light jacket. It definitely can step up a casual look with a pair of jeans. Well made too. My son, who is a very picky with his clothes liked it, which says a lot.

Ordered XXL which is my usual size. Great fit and comfortable. Seems to be pretty good quality. Only time will tell.

This jacket is a bit like an over-sized shirt. It is mostly cotton (with a tiny bit of stretch): good, thick cotton, not like your average shirt. The pockets are not like those on a normal shirt either - so it's clearly a jacket, but you could certainly wear it as an overshirt. It's well-made, and the size seems reasonable to me. I normally wear M or L (chest about 42"), and this L size is reasonably spacious but probably about the right fit. The cut is nice, and it looks quite handsome to wear - although the strong green of mine is not the most fashionable of colours, I'd say.
