This mellon "baller" has a flattened bottom, like the shape of a gouda cheese. It's impossible to make round balls with this. It's hard to use and mangles the fruit. So useless!!! Do not buy!!!Update... it broke the second time I used it!!!

the spoon end have a good little tack weld on them. they look like they'll hold up for a few years of pretty heavy use in our house.

The scoops are smaller than I thought they'd be. I'd look for a size or two up. It's built well and cuts through melon but the pieces are bite size.
