The guitar's neck was bowed upwards out of the box. I adjusted the truss rod carefully (counter clockwise) as far as I could until it was mostly straight. After leaving the guitar overnight and then tuning the guitar, the high E string started buzzing at fret 5 and continued to have only one note (fret 15). Once at fret 16 the notes continued normally. The low E string is somewhat okay until fret 12 but has a slight buzz until fret 14 where it becomes clear again. So the neck is warped differently where the neck meets the body of the guitar at fret 15. I am requesting a return because I think it will need some major work to be fully playable. It's a shame because otherwise it is a very nice looking guitar.

So first I got a guitar with fret buzzing problem (higher frets ) i wasn't able to release the action of the guitar with the given allen key,So i returned it (i love amazon for no question asked returns)And then ordered it again, this time qgain the frets were buzzing, first four frets of high e stringsBut i managed to release the action using allen key,But now the action is little on higher side.I would say go to q shop play for half an hour and then purchase. But if you don't have shops in your city (like mine) go for it :)

Don't get me wrong, this is a great guitar! I purchased 2 same day a CC-60SCE and this CD-60SCE. I own a few Fender and Gibson guitars, my favorites since I was a teenager. I have always celebrated the high quality standards of the brands; however, this last purchase I regret the most. I bought it based on the information provided by the seller, it was sold to me as an exhibition guitar in excellent conditions. Long story short, I found that the guitar is defective and it will cost me $200 to repair it (Guitar Center), the 2nd and 3rd frets are loose affecting the B and e strings. Lesson learned, this is the last time I buy a used item, dishonest sellers tend to lie to get rid of their bad items. Return it? ye' sure, but it will cost me.

I bought this on Black Friday, and UPS (admittedly busy that time of year) managed to deliver it to the wrong address. Tracking showed it as delivered, but after many calls to UPS customer service and a little Google research; I determined that it was delivered to a Wal-Mart 30 miles from my house.I drove there and picked it up. The action when it arrived was too high, so I adjusted the truss rod, filed the nut and sanded the bottom of the saddle until I got it just where I wanted it. It is now very easy to play and has good intonation and tone. I enjoy it very much. Even if you had to pay someone for the setup it would be well worth the money and the trouble.

I just started playing the guitar and read a few tests about affordable guitars before. This one won several tests. Arrived promptly and in good condition and I am very, very happy with it because even I can produce a decent sound on it and I still think the price is reasonable. Seems very well produced, too. I would recommend to anybody who doesn't have much experience (can't really tell if you would want a better instrument after a while?), it gives me a ton of motivation to have a nice instrument to play on.

I have a few acoustic and electric guitars and I've been playing about 5 years. This was ordered as a back-up guitar for campfire playing and passing around a group of friends. I don't like risking my Taylor, Takamine or Seagull acoustics playing around the campfire. It has a nice rounded fretboard and feels well built. The intonation is good and the action is low. It does have a slight string buzz when playing power chords but raising the action far enough to correct it makes the action too high. Maybe with different strings it won't buzz anymore on power chords? Otherwise the guitar is beautiful and sounds very nice for finger picking and strumming. Good back-up or beginner guitar.

Had the Fender CD-60S for a few months now and finally getting to play it after finishing uni for the year. It's a great little acoustic guitar, not my first but I have had a big break from playing for a number of years now, and this is MUCH better than the really cheap "beginner" guitars I used to play! Nice crisp sound, a little too crisp to start with, if that makes any sense? But after a few weeks of playing daily it has mellowed out nicely and sounds amazing! Great first acoustic guitar! Highly recommended for those looking for a quality guitar which wont break the bank.

The product arrived very lightweight and seemed poorly protected, although upon opening the box, I saw that the guitar was packaged well and respectably. The sticker on the pickguard as mentioned in other reviews was indeed present, but taking off the plastic protection film, the product was perfectly unblemished. The action is good, I did not have to change it, and I didn't have to adjust the truss rod either, although it comes with an allen wrench to do so. Overall, I would buy this again in a heartbeat. Quality fender sound for a reasonable price.

To be able to buy a name brand guitar like this at such a great price was a real steal. One of my sons is a beginner learning to play, so it was great for me being able to purchase a guitar like this that would carry him from beginner into an intermediate player in later years. It is a well-made and beautiful guitar, and it produces a wonderful sound that you would expect from a name like Fender. Plus, with my son being left-handed, I thought it would be difficult to find a good affordable left-handed guitar for him. Not only was able to find this high quality one, but the price couldn't be beat.

The Fender CD-60S not only has a beautiful fit and finish, but plays and sounds as great as several guitars I've later tried that cost at least twice as much. A slight adjustment of the truss rod to lower the neck relief a bit, and changing the OEM strings to a set of Ernie Ball Earthwood Silk and Steel Extra Soft Acoustic .010 - .050 was all that was needed to make the guitar easy to play. Happy to discover that the annoying, impossible to remove without marring the guitar, lesson advertisement sticker was actually on top of a transparent protective film that can be peeled off the pick guard.

New to really playing guitar and needed to get something decent after noodling around with a garage sale acoustic I picked up years ago. After a bunch of research and checking out a handful of recommended models I decided on the Fender 60. Could not have made a better choice, the sound, the sustain, the easy to use features, the comfortable feel. And it’s Beautiful in black! Major win. Most acoustic/electtics tend to sound thin and I suppose they assume you’ll be amped more often than not. This one sounds fantastic unplugged as well. Of course, upgrade the strings. After that, enjoy...
