It does seem to have a bit more performance than the flat styled I removed, the extra attachment liner seems to add some stiffness.

This is a very well made whale tail, but it does not fit my 2021 Mercury 50 hp four stroke. The product description does not say that it won't fit, but the instructions prominently (though a little confusingly) indicate that this model will not fit at least some Mercury outboards. And the pictures in the product description have dimensions except for the most important one -- the width of the slot. So it is too narrow for my Merc. It would have been very easy for them to put the same notice re: Volvo and Mercury engines in the product description and save people from buying a product that won't fit their needs. Having said that, if it does fit your engine, it is an easy four star. Maybe even a five, but I'll never know since I can't use it.
