The Vernier scale has 0.0001" graduation intervals and ± 0.00016″ accuracy for precise and accurate readings. The carbide-tipped anvil/spindle pair has hardened, precision-ground, and micro-lapped measuring faces with 0.00003" flatness and 0.00005" parallelism for exact measurements. Fowler, an American company, manufactures premium inspection and measurement instruments like electronic indicators, calipers, bore gages, and micrometers. Always loved Fowler tools... Ordered a pair of these mics & 2" mics for my new job. Tolerances were quoted to be +/- .00016"... Tool them to work to have my head engineer bless them & they lose .004" over the course of 1". Sorry... no can do.

This is a fantastic tool, and at this price point, it's a STEAL. Dead-on accurate to .0001 as advertised, and easy to use with a handy case. The calibration instructions and pictures could be a bit clearer, but that's negligible.

After un-boxing, I let it sit for a couple of hours to reach room temp. Wiped the anvils clean, then checked the zero point - it was dead on. Then checked it against a set of feeler gauges, with one at 0.0025 inch. On the 0.0025 feeler, this mic was only off by about quarter the width of a line on the VERNIER - DEAD ON!! Can't wait to buy their 6" caliper.

Surprisingly well made for the price. It probably comes from China but is solid, the anvils line up perfectly and the thimble moves very smoothly.

As a machinist this should have cost well over $150. This is the most accurate and beautifully machined micrometer I have ever had. WELL DONE CHINA!!! I like it so much so that I immediately ordered the Fowler 0-2" one also for $35. Don't think twice about buying it....

Measuring instrument is exactly as advertised. Case could be more heavy duty as this gets used in an industrial environment. Keep up the good work.
