Unlike products that show lines on a single fingerboard overlay, the separate tapes have the advantage that you can feel where each individual finger goes without looking. This is very helpful since the eyes are often busy reading sheet music, watching a conductor, or looking elsewhere. Installing the tapes correctly is quite simple with the included measuring ruler that shows exactly where to place each tape. The ruler and tapes were designed and created by our highly skilled violin expert, so you can be sure the measurements are correct and the tapes function the way you need them to for an optimal learning experience. To find the locations for the tapes, just hold the ruler against the edge of the fingerboard and make a small mark showing where to put each tape. A link to our website is included in case you want to watch a video and read the steps for applying the tapes properly. You will receive both black and white tapes in the package. Use the white tapes to see them best. Use the black tapes if you want them to blend in better for a sleeker look. You can still see the black tapes, but your audience will barely notice them. The tapes can be removed easily when you are ready to play without them anymore. They will not damage the fingerboard. Just a light cleaning of left over adhesive may be necessary.

Didn't come with the ruler. That was one of the main reasons I bought it. Also when I opened the package the strips were just inside the folded piece of paper so just be careful when unfolding because if you are not expecting them to be loose they will fall out. So it does not come like the picture shows. All that came were the strips and the business card.

I rate this high because placement with their guide is great. Strips are each on its own backing and very hard to see backing and remove backing. Other than that it is perfect.

On arrival, everything looked wonderful. The tape placement card is a great guide to fret tape placement on the fingerboard.HOWEVER. The small strips of tape have a backing to remove to expose the sticky adhesive to adhere it to the fingerboard. This backing I found EXTREMELY difficult to remove. I destroyed 2 getting them apart from their backing. I would never buy again because the quality of the tape is poor.
