I bought this to use on a Canyon carbon fork and thought it would be short like the one shown. I was going to install it on top of the existing expansion nut that was about 1 3/4” deep . Plug was about 1/4” too long .

Seems to only provide expansion. Absolutely no compression no preload of bearings. Waited too long to install and can’t return now.

Here is the problem I was trying to solving using this product; I have a carbon fork & the inside diameter of the steerer tube is not 100% perfect circle. So I hoped this might fit. With this product the 4 composite expansion pieces are held together with a small rubber band. I was able to pull two of the pieces out so it would slip down into my steerer tube. This worked perfectly for my application which is a bit unusual. Also note, I did not have to rely on this for proper headset bearing loading as my headset (Look head fit) uses a different means of loading bearing tension. All I needed was this to provide some interior steerer support and a top cap.

Not disappointed with the product, but the part was the same as another on here for less w/Prime Shipping. I got fooled because the top cap in the picture looked different. A little more vetting and I would have saved 30%.

Great service and delivery was quick. It's an upgrade to install it on any bike with carbon forks.

Well made expander plug, but I ended up not needing it for my bicycle project.
