I have a garmin 1030 and I planned to do a 100 mile charity bike ride. Now I know my 1030 battery would do the distance but I had my eye on the battery power pack for a while now and it was a good deal. It came with an adaptor kit to change the fittings for both the power pack and my head unit. Once the conversion was done everything worked perfectly so yes super impressed but I find all my Garmin products perfect.

Der Zusatzakku ist genial - er lädt stetig und kann als Powerbank verwendet werden. Mein Navi war über 4 Tage immer auf 100% und der Akku hat nur einen Strich an Energie verloren. Das Teil stört nicht und ist nicht schwer, gibt auch ein gutes Gefühl mal das Smartphone nachladen zu können. Wer viel und lange radelt, sollte es haben !

E' utile per il mio Edge 820, che ha la batteria con durata limitata. Serve però un cavo esterno per collegare il mio Edge.

I bought this thinking it would be good to have some extra juice for my Edge 820. just make sure it fits your bike computer perfect or you will need a USB cable in addition to the extended arm mount

I love everything about this battery unit. Instead of having to charge my Garmin 530 every couple of days, I only need to do it every week or two. Very convenient and easy to install. It came quickly and as promised.

This battery works great and holds a charge wonderfully. Take the time to read the instructions (before mounting.) Mounting is not as straight forward as it appears. Not all Garmin mounts will accommodate this battery. When installed properly it works great. If you are using a mount that will not accommodate it you can plug it into your unit via. a charge cable. The batteries capacity is 1300mah so you are paying for the mounting system and the brand.

I bought this with the Edge1030, and the plan was to not run out of power on a century ride. My previous Garmin (the Edge 1000) did indeed run out of power a few years ago during a century ride - and it died at 90 miles. Having said that, this Edge 1030 without this power pack does not suck power as much as the 1000 did. Yesterday's ride was 36 miles, and the 1030 had well over 80% power left. If you are buying the 1030, you may want to verify yourself before buying this power pack that the 1030 really lasts for hours and hours by itself... This power pack will also power any USB device, and that is pretty cool! I love the way it attaches directly under the 1030... Also, with the 1030 you don't rotate the GPS 90 degrees like other mounts to attach it, so you can put a light or a bell right next to it on your handlebars. Now I feel like I'm reviewing the 1030!

Cette batterie de secours procure une charge vraiment rapide et une grosse autonomie, par contre :- Montage impossible avec Edge 520- Trouver une patte compatible est impossible- Pour des raisons pratiques, achat d'un câble supplémentaire (référence 010-12562-01 chez Garmin)Bref, un peu déçu d'avoir dépensé autant alors qu'une batterie de secours lambda aurait eu le même effet.

As a designer of auxiliary battery packs for an unrelated industry myself, I can testify that the Garmin Power Pack is a top-notch product. It has high energy density, an excellent fuel gage readout, and will charge the Edge 1030 with a direct rigid connection as well as providing an additional USB output port for charging any other device with a USB input port, e.g., iPhone, other Garmin devices, etc.Highly recommended!!

Do you own a Garmin edge 1030 and want to ride 1000 kilometers ? Then this is for you. This thing is big but fits very easily onto your bike handlebars, using the supplied mount. Once there, you’ll never notice it. You can ride through the night with your edge 1030 in navigation mode, backlight on and no chance of running out of power. You can use it to charge your phone or bike light but it’s real purpose is to mate, seamlessly with the edge 1030, which it does perfectly. I have a 600 kilometer event coming up and for once feel confident that I’ll not need to worry about my GPS dying. Thank you Garmin.
