We like having a remote for our logs, so we don’t waste propane. The thermostat allows us to set them to come on and go off at our choice of temps.

Bought many of these for our Chimney/Fireplace business and have had to replace them all. The battery doors get worn quickly, pop open and will not close again. This makes the remote inoperable because the batteries no longer make a connection. We learned our lesson on saving a few bucks and will be sticking to Skytech brand remotes only.

I had to replace the original SkyTech remote with my gas logs due to corrosion on the battery terminals. This product was a perfect match. Installation took less than fifteen minutes (I spent most of the time removing and replacing the logs in my gas fireplace).

The dip switch settings were not the same on the remote and the receiver. It claims they were factory set, but they we different so it did not function when first installed. Once I got the switches set the same, the unit functioned well. Cannot say anything about durability yet because it was just installed, but other than the dip switch setting issue, it was was easy to install. The instructions are well written.
