if you need a gasket for your freezer, this is the one to buy. Installed with a breeze and fit perfect with no gaps. I am very pleased.. First replacement gasket I bought was through a aftermarket company which was just a little bit cheaper turned out to be poor quality and air gaps on all four sides, causing massive ice buildup, which was more than double the old wore out one. I would definitely recommend this product.

My freezer was frosting up and was getting frost bite on some of the products. The freezer is 15 years or more old and was given to me by a relative. He got it from the original owner for the same issue and replaced the door gasket which took care of his issue. I have had to replace the motor start relay and now this gasket replacement. I also replaced the door insulation using r-13 floor insulation. The gasket fit perfectly and was much easier than I was picturing from all the issues that I had seem from others talking about not being able to stretch it without heating it up with a blow dryer. Not to fear I did not have to do anything other than start on one corner and work my way around the perimeter.

I ordered my freezer gasket through Amazon. I took advantage of the sites "confirm" fitment section. I DID EVERYTHING THAT I COULD HAVE TO PURCHASE THE PROPER GASKET. This was supposed to be OEM, but it was anything but OEM. What I received was a flimsy gasket. It was as if they were trying to convince me that a VW was a Mercedes! IT WAS 3/4" OF AN INCH TOO WIDE, and nowhere near the quality of the original. By the way, it was Frigidaire that stipulated that this part would fit. I called Frigidaire and got involved with their "Chat" function. They could not even give me the proper part number. They emailed me the parts manual for my model and I provided it to them. They wanted to sell me a another unit right then, but I passed. They had been wrong too many times in the past. To this point I have 3 1/2 hours on THEIR FAILURE. I also learned that the part number in the parts manual had been superseded by a gasket number that I had purchased for my matching refrigerator, and it was genuine Electrolux(Part of the Frigidaire Family).Amazon is partially at fault. They have permitted to have Frigidaire advertise this gasket as "meeting" OEM specifications. There is no such classification. It is either OEM (produced by Frigidaire) or aftermarket. After so much misinformation, the Frigidaire's final comment was " Sorry for the inconvenience."Take the time and get a free parts manual on line for your model and use its part number for your part.

Product came in a large box which I assumed was to keep the creases, folds and other malformations to a minimum. It looked like a candidate for a quick return, but I laid it out and let it relax for 10 days in my very warm house before installing it. Install was a snap, (watch a YOUTUBE video for some tips before installing) and after a few minutes with a hairdryer, the seal took shape nicely. Freezer is fixed and working properly again. I'd have rated it higher had the cost been reasonable, but when a flimsy seal costs fully 18% of the original cost of the freezer just 6 years ago, I simply must say something.

I bought my huge upright freezer in 2012 for over $1,000 - and I bought it used. After some research, I found out my freezer was made in 2006, and isn't even made anymore. My freezer has had major ice build up on the top shelf for the last year or so, and anything that's in the door thaws. I've lost so many groceries already because of this. I have three teenage boys and a husband to feed, so groceries are too expensive (and hard to find!) to keep losing. My house fridge/freezer just isn't big enough to store enough groceries for even a week, so I have to keep a freezer going.I spent the better part of a Saturday morning shopping for a new freezer...only to learn that COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on yet another "non-essential" business, and no one has freezers until "maybe November", or even next year. Ugh. Looks like time to repair this poor freezer. After thoroughly reading the reviews, I decided to take the plunge and order this gasket. When I got the gasket, it was in a huge box, packed very well. I did notice one corner of the gasket wasn't quite sealed (meaning a tear about 1/4" long), but after deciding it's got to be better than what's on my freezer, I went ahead and laid the gasket out on the living room floor. It sat in the floor for two days, to warm up a bit, and I was too lazy to put it on the freezer right away. Today, I finally got the blow dryer out, and took maybe 10 minutes to blow hot air onto the gasket, all the way around, which took the last of the wrinkles out of it. One of my sons helped me change out the gasket, as you really need an extra set of hands to juggle everything. We completely cleaned out the freezer, scraped all the ice out (the top shelf was seriously 4" deep in ice), and put the new gasket on. It went on super easy, and honestly fit better than the one I took off. I have two baby-proof latches on my freezer door, as the door wasn't staying shut (that's how bad the old gasket was). After putting the new gasket on, and latching the baby latches, I noticed only one area that was wrinkled/had an indention. I had my son get the blow dryer after it (from reading reviews), and it helped straighten the area really fast. I left the freezer alone for about 3 hours. When I undid the baby latches, the door didn't pop open (yay!), and took some strength to actually open it (that's great!). When I opened the freezer, it was way colder than I've felt it in a while. When I closed the door, you could actually hear air hissing out as it sealed shut (like it did when I first bought it), and I actually don't HAVE to latch the baby latches anymore.Easy fix, so worth the savings, and my freezer is doing better than it has in years!
