I put my axle shaft clip where the space faces 6pm. And got it to bump all the way in. Easily. Very important that clip is positioned so as gravity is not keeping it in the way. The seal was nice and tight, I just used a press cup from OEM tools rental. Knocked it flush right in. Looks good. My picture might be my old one, that pick tool is inexpensive. I would get that. Quality part. Keeper.

Perfect fit for my 2002 GMC Envoy driver's side front seal. Was leaking diff fluid and once I got the old one out I could see why. New one worked perfect and installed easily with a dead blow hammer and a 2x4.

Genuine GM part that fixed my 2005 GMC Envoy. So I pulled out of my garage one day to find a puddle of what I first thought to be oil, then discovered it to be Gear lube. I pulled out the Jack and Jack Stands and crawled under to discover a leaky Axle Shaft Seal on the Drivers side. A little research shows this to be a common problem on higher mileage GM Trucks and SUV's, as the Left side Bearing is submerged in Gear Lube and the Right side is a Sealed Greased Bearing. It's a bit of work to replace as you need to undo a lot of the front suspension just to get the axle shaft out and then need a seal puller to get the old one out and a seal installer to get the new one in without damaging it. Some people will say you don't need all the fancy pullers and installers (and you can get creative and improvise) but it makes it so much easier to use the right tools for the job. You can rent or borrow most special tools from a lot of your Local Auto Parts stores. I used the Lisle 56920 Limited Access Seal Puller I bought here on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002MCVPVM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 that was inexpensive and worked great being able to use a 3/8 inch drive ratchet at different angles to get in a tight spot.

this is the 2nd time i've replaced this seal (seal #3). mileage is 210k. if you have a puddle of gear oil under the car, this might be the reason. use a seal puller tool and get the hook behind the back side of the seal, it will come out with some careful heavy prying. use a seal / bearing race installer for replacement (makes it easier to align without distorting the new seal). the front differential sump design means that half of the CV shaft diameter is submerged.

Does as it should. Prevent the diff from leaking. Very solid seal.

High quality Oem seal with the prongs on the inside to keep the bearing preload. This was a tough job would not recommend to the typical shade tree mechanic. This seal fit the left oil seal on my 04 gmc envoy.

I think it fits perfectly, but it sticks out a few mm. I thought it'd be flush with the differential case. No leaks 5k miles later, though.
