No issues with the part, it was genuine AC Delco, just didn't fix the issue. I replaced the actuator and that didn't solve it either. Couldn't send the part back since it was installed for 5 minutes, but not the fault of the seller. Bad GM engineering.

The item was not in a seal package when received. Item failed electrical bench test prior to installation. I suspect it was not inspected prior to shipping, return of item in process for refund. Now the vehicle will now have to set another week. Thanks for wasting my time and money. Would not recommend in the future.

The switch unit fits and works well. The selector light is nice and bright making it easy to see what is selected. At night it illuminated nice and bright with an even brightness. The only problem mine has is the ā€4WDā€ does not illuminate at night, see pictures.

There are a few different companies that make this replacement switch and this one costs more but with electrical issues I always try to go with genuine replacement parts. This fixed the "Service 4wd" message I was getting in my 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Z-71.

Seems like I'm having to write a lot of reviews for parts for my '03 Tahoe lately, so here we are again, this time with the transfer case selector switch. My original switch didn't fail completely, just the backlight. However, given that these switches are notorious for failing beyond the backlight and causing a service error, I decided to get it replaced before I had any additional problems, particularly as I didn't want to have trouble getting in and out of 4WD in the middle of winter.Replacing the old switch is very simple. Just need to remove bezel around the dash (start by pulling on the corners and the whole thing will eventually just pop out), then there is a tab on each side of the switch that holds it in place. Use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool pop each tab out from the surrounding frame. You will then need to disconnect two plugs attached to the switch, then just install new switch. So far the new switch looks and operates just like the old switch. Going with the GM brand means you're paying a bit more, but after looking at the reviews for the cheaper OEM versions, I decided I did not want to accept their flaws to save a few dollars.

I selected this particular item because it was listed as Genuine GM. Which it may well be, but I gave it 4 stars because it is still clearly labeled "Made in China", which I guess it is hard to not find nowadays.Put the part in and it cleared up the "service 4WD" error message and cycled through all of the ranges = Auto 4wd, 2HI, 4Hi and 4 Low. I alsocleaned the ground wires that can also lead to error problems apparently.

Can't beat OEM parts. Easy to install and it fixed the problem.

After picking this part at higher price because it said genuine gm I was very disappointed to open the box and find (MADE IN CHINA) on side of the part. never again
