Got this for my motorhome. The stock pipe was just plain steel, black and not looking "finished". the stock pipe was a bit difficult to remove , I had to cut slits around the pipe in about 5 spots (I used a cordless Dremel with cut off wheels), then splayed the pieces out with a hammer and strong screwdriver. The installation was then easy, slide onto the exhaust pipe and tighten down . Now it looks like a finished piece!
