The DC Jack shown is keyed with the long piece of plastic on one side. The DC jack received was keyed with short pieces of plastic on both sides. After trimming one side to fit it did not power the laptop.

I have a power jack damaged on my HP Laptop. I had order one which was listed as fitting but it came in one inch to short. I told the bad cable and found the lenght. Luckily, the Amazon listing gave the lenght of the cable and the end connector which matched the one I needed.I put it into the laptop and checked to see if it would charge the battery even before sealing the laptop case and it worked.
