GlowShift’s Dodge Ram Cummins Transmission Line T-Fitting Adapter allows you to easily install a 1/8-27 NPT transmission temperature sensor directly to the 1/2” transmission cooler feed line for extremely accurate readings directly from the trans temp source. This Dodge Ram Cummins Transmission Cooler Line T-Fitting Adapter works with any 2003-2018 5.9L or 6.7L Cummins that has a 48RE or 68RFE transmission. Included you’ll receive (1) T-Fitting Housing with 1/8-27 NPT port, (2) compression nuts and (2) cutting rings to ensure a tight, leak free seal. Each t-fitting adapter is crafted from high quality carbon steel nickel zinc coating to prevent rust over time. Getting Started

With a few steps this 2003-2018 Dodge Ram 5.9L or 6.7L Cummins Transmission Cooler Line T-Fitting Adapter will be ready for use and you’ll have access to accurate readings directly from your trans temp source.

Removed

Cut the Cooler Feed Line

Measure 1-7/8” in the cooler feed line in a location between the bends. Use a pipe cutter to cut and remove the 1-7/8” section from the line.

Fitting

Install the T-Fitting

Install the cooler line T-fitting female fittings over each end of the cut line. Then place the metal cutting rings over each end of the cooler line.

Sensor In

Thread in the Sensor

Install the 1/8-27 NPT temperature sensor into the port on the T-fitting housing. Be sure to wrap Teflon tape on the threads of the sensor to prevent leaks.

Transmission tubing wouldn’t install on one end. Thought there was a problem with the tubing but realized one of the ferrules was cut too small. Went to the hydraulic supply down the road and bought a good connector. Yes it cost more but it’s a quality tubing fitting.

Worked perfect for 2016 Dodge Hellcat Charger. It was very difficult to screw the temp sensor in though. I basically had to tap the t-housing threads using the sensor threads. It was like there was some kind of gunk in the t-housing sensor threads. Just take your time, keep your threads clean, add lube to threads as you progress, unscrew sensor, clean threads, repeat.

Worked super flawlessly! I have ruined other compression type fittings in the past by overtightening them so I was very leery. Make sure u clean the tubing with fine steel wool and brake cleaner first. Use a straight edge and Sharpie to mark a parallel line with the length of the tube. Use a tubing cutter and cut out enough section to maintain the original length. Point 1/8 NPT in a direction that will be free from obstructions when installed and tighten using the Sharpie lines as a guide. Spray off Sharpie lines with brake cleaner. This post was for entertainment purposes only and not intended to be instructions. I had great success with this product that was inexpensive and surprisingly good quality.

Worked perfectly in my 2008 Dodge Cummins diesel with a 68 RFE tranny. No leaks so far and easy to use. Just buy this if you need to add a temp probe in the tranny line that uses a 1/8 pipe temperature probe.
