1999 k1500 suburban , quick install . Material is very heavy duty metal. Stock oil capacity is only 2qts and this doubles the capacity! Can't beat that. With the addition of a drain plug it makes fluid changing a breeze.

Fit great, 0 issues. Got installed when I did the regear so not sure if it was a difficult install but I'm sure it's easy! Looks great

Looks great, quality made with some cool features that are actually useful. Doesnt leak if you run a gasket along with the o ring, heard some folks say it may leak without a gasket. The extra volume this cover offers is nice, but I'm not sure how well it actually cools the fluid.

Main reason for getting the Mag-Hytec was for the ease of servicing the rear diff fluid. It's nice to be able to go out and remove the metal shavings while checking the fluid level on the magnetic dipstick. I'm sure its running cooler from having increased fluid capacity and the cooling veins. I believe it holds an extra 3/4 to 1 qt. Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I had to use a gasket (along with the o-ring) to keep it from leaking. Happy with the purchase. Transmission pan is next.

I debated over PML vs Mag-Hytec, but I'm happy I went with this. It's such a quality product and well made. I filled it with 3 quarts and used the stock fill hole to determine how much gear oil to use, then where the fluid should be noted on the dip stick. Part doesn't leak, perfect fit. Torque everything correctly. I torqued the drain plug and dip stick to 30 inch pounds. Bolts are 12-16 foot pounds, so I went with 15. This was for an 06 Silverado 2wd. I also decided on using Valvoline SynPower 75w90.

Super simple upgrade to any truck. Wish they made it so the ebrake bracket would mount to it but still looks awesome and I’ll probably modify the bracket at some point down the road. My truck is lifted on 35’s and this thing looks absolutely awesome from behind the truck. I’d recommend using some thread locker on the new bolts and don’t forget to torque in a star pattern!

Fits perfectly on my 2012 GMC Sierra 1500. I did have to modify the factory brake cable bracket by enlarging the bolt hole slightly but other than that no issues at all. Love the drain plug and large fill hole on the cover as it makes it a breeze to perform routine maintenance - no fluid all over the place like before. And because it's so easy to do I'll actually do it regularly. The magnetic dipstick is also handy for checking fluid level and getting a quick visual inspection of the "health" of the differential by seeing the amount of metal film/bits on the dipstick. And also because it's magnetic, it keeps the metal bits out of the gears. And especially nice is this diff cover comes with a built-in rubber o-ring so no need to purchase a separate gasket. This cover holds an additional two quarts of fluid and has cooling fins built into it so your rear end will run cooler. This is important if you tow frequently.Yep, all this AND it looks good too!
