I enjoy playing Jazz 627 Reeds and for me the character of these reeds is similar to Rico (D'Adarrio) Jazz Select Unfiled reeds. I find the 627's to be a little more flexible and there is a little less resistance at the bottom end. My saxophone plays with a stuffy and sharp low and middle D that I need to adjust for, and the 627's seem to make that adjustment a little easier.I find these reeds to be of the same quality as Rico and Vandoran reeds. I usually use a 2.5 strength in most reeds and that was true for the 627's. Just for comparison, I was moving between the 2 Mediums and the 2 Hard in the Rico Jazz Select reeds. Worth a try for first quality cane.....EVERYTHING is too hard !
