We were specifically looking for a metal bird bath so we could offer water year-round. The substantial stand assembled easily and readily found its way into New England's rocky soil. The copper looks wonderful in the garden, it's just the right depth for the birds and we love the ripple design. We're torn on this review as the bird bath looks great and is good quality but the birds don't use it. Not sure if the sparkling is the issue. Been out over summer fall winter and now into spring and still looks as good as new.

Well made and great copper bowl, would be 5 stars but we stay busy keeping it straight vertically, have to re-set in the dirt once in a while.

2 year update: I fiddled with it some more and wove some wire underneath the bowl to essentially support it in the right position. It finally holds water! I think it needs to be redesigned to sit evenly, but if yours is uneven just know that it is salvageable. The bowl is even prettier, in my opinion, after its been exposed to the elements for a while and developed a patina.Original review: I bought the 18" pure copper bird bath on a pole and the 13" pure copper hanging bird bath at the same time. Both were packaged well and were attractive. The pole for one came with a minor amount of rust on the pole portion in an area that would be hidden when assembled. The hanging model hangs nice and level with an even amount of water in it. The pole one however is impossible to level and has gotten worse over time despite all manner of attempts to support the pole in different ways. Worse to the point that it currently is so tilted it is only holding a small crescent of water. I didn't make any attempt to return it because I thought that if I tried enough things eventually I would get it to work, but no success. I'm still periodically trying something new in hopes of making it more usable. The issue seems to stem from the bowl holding portion being slightly misshapen from the start, although I'm not certain. For the amount of money you spend on these items it's a bit disappointing.
