The HOUHAW green laser is a very powerful laser capable of very far distance illumination and should be used cautiously and only by adults. I was very surprised at the power of this handheld laser that has no external power supply. The green laser is very bright and very small point at close distance. The laser included some refracting screens to divide the light into some very interesting patterns when used with the laser on a blank surface. I am very impressed with the amount of light and the intensity of the light coming out of this tiny handheld device. I find this device would be right a t home in a lab or some sort of Laser emitting experiment. It is rechargeable so you don't need any batteries. saves a lot of time and money. The body is aircraft aluminum and should last many years as long as it is stored properly. I would recommend this device for anyone hiking in the wilderness or out for astronomy viewing.

If you just need a bright laser and the price is right this might be a great way to go, but the general product design is poor, it's just the laser that is quite strong so it's a mixed bag for me. The star end cap seems pretty useless and will likely get lost right away as when you unscrew it from the front there is no place to thread it onto the back, put it in your pocket and try not to lose it. Following that trend, there is an annoying plastic safety cover for the button to turn it on, but instead of building it into the case where you could slide it out of the way with one hand, you have to use your other hand to remove it, then try not to lose it. But that won't be a problem for long, as on mine it broke after taking it on and off only a handful of times, see my attached picture to see how cheaply the plastic cover is made and where it breaks. This is a good laser emitter in a very meh case.

This Houhaw Green Laser Pointer is an interesting device. It is very bright and the beam appears wider than red laser pointers I've used. It includes a rotating star cap that splits the beam into a changing pattern as you rotate it, similar to the Christmas laser projectors. If you rotate it in one direction the pattern repeats. Rotate in the other direction and the cap unscrews and you have a single beam. The laser is controlled with a push button and comes with a plastic clip to help prevent accidental operation. This plastic clip, like the star cap, is prone to loss if you aren't careful where you keep it. The back end of the pointer unscrews to reveal a USB-A plug for charging. I found it awkward to have the pointer hanging from a charger (not included.) There is a small hole near the plug with a blue LED that indicates charging.I would rather the pointer have a socket and use a USB-C or microUSB cable for charging. Having owned other laser pointers, I would also prefer a switch less prone to accidental operation when stowed in a bag or pocket. This pointer is very bright and projects the beam a very long way. Use it responsibly!

The Green Laser Pointer Long Range, while marketed for hiking and astronomy, reveals a surprising versatility beyond its intended applications. Its most notable feature is its impressive brightness, delivering a powerful beam that's easily visible over considerable distances. The rechargeable design is a welcome departure from battery-dependent alternatives, offering convenience and reducing waste. However, it's the creative, unconventional uses that truly set this laser pointer apart. The included dot adapter transforms it into a budget-friendly tool for paranormal enthusiasts, allowing for the creation of intricate dot grids for "ghost hunting." While the scientific validity of such pursuits is debatable, the laser's functionality in this context is undeniable.Furthermore, the dot patterns it projects provide a source of amusement, particularly for feline companions. The seemingly endless array of dots creates a captivating spectacle, driving cats to a frenzy of playful confusion. In essence, this laser pointer transcends its advertised purpose, proving to be a multifaceted tool with applications ranging from the practical to the whimsical. While its suitability for astronomy and hiking may be subjective, its brightness, rechargeable design, and dot adapter functionality make it a compelling and entertaining gadget.

Can see this thing for miles! Laser works amazing. Has a little cap that lasts you play with making the lazer split but it's real shining quality is the plain lazer. It bright and in a dark room or outside it is extremely visible. Even during the day you can see it just not nearly as far. It's fun to point out constellations or just use as a pointer. Also have survival uses. If lost hicking or something could use it as an SOS or as a lazer signal so a helicopter can find you. Definitely taking it camping every time lolThe case is metal but it's thin so might break if handled to rough or if it drops on something hard. But it feels good to hold and it's small enough to carry in your pocket. The button sticks out though... thats probably my 1 complaint it's not flush with the metal case. They give you a little plastic clip on that keeps the button from not being pressed in a pocket or bag... but I can see people losing the clip or it breaking fast.**wouldn't use this to play with cats and stuff. It's bright so it might damage your pets eyes if they look at it directly**The pics are just in my room. I forgot to take any while I was camping. You can see on just the plain lazer just how bight it is. That's in a room that was dark with no other lights on.

Great for birdwatching with others. You can circle the bird (NOT shine on it which can both spook it and harm it) to help others quickly find it in the tree. The green is very bright and stands out even during the daytime. USB changeability makes a HUGE difference in my opinion since laser pointers tend to like to eat through batteries super quickly.
