About this item

  • PREMIUM SAW – The Gryphon Abrasive Miter Saw makes premium cuts in thin wall extrusions of brass, zinc, steel and copper. The adjustable angle of cut, protractor scale, and durable design make this saw the best for any project.
  • CLEAN, QUICK CUTS – The ultra-thin, abrasive blade offers ultimate precision. The blades cuts cleanly and coolly, limiting flash. The chop saw design, built-in clamp, and safety shield ensure protection for the operator.
  • PERFECT FOR – The saw is used largely in the automotive field. Whether you're cutting or trimming tubing for a vehicle, this saw makes every project easier.
  • EASY TO USE – Designed for one-hand operation, the thumbscrew clamp holds your work securely to the fence while cutting. Plus, the large adjustable table provides settings for accurate angles.
  • GRYPHON DIFFERENCE – Since 1961, we've designed Gryphon products with the customer in mind, for simple operation and a long lifespan.

Gryphon Corporation has been building high quality tools in Southern California since 1961. Gryphon invented the first saw for glass in 1976, and has been an innovator in the glass industry ever since. We have one of the broadest lines of glass tools in the industry. Gryphon is the only company in the industry to offer all three types of diamond saws, so you have the choice of the best product for your particular application. The Gryphon Miter saw is particularly well suited for making premium cuts in thin wall extrusions of brass, zinc, steel and copper. It has a very fine abrasive blade which cuts cleanly and coolly resulting in a minimum of flash. The saw is used largely in the stained glass (for cutting the "came" used to join separate pieces of glass) and the automotive fields (for cutting tubing of all types including braided stainless hose). A large adjustable table provides settings for accurate angles. The chop saw design along with the built in clamp for the work and safety shield provide protection to the operator.

I really did not know what to expect. Purchased to cut zinc came for larger stain glass windows. I hoped cuts would be super clean but not the case. I will trim end up with hand cutters. Also, need super good lighting and get at eye level to see exact spot blade is touching metal. I expect to get better with practice. All said, I’m glad to have this saw because trimming zinc came using hack saw is super difficult and impossible for my skill set! Also, for my use, works fine indoors on sturdy table...no sparks to worry about.

I bought a used gryphon miter saw on the internet. I noticed that the blade mechanism did not raise up on its own. A check revealed that the spring in missing. Where can I purchase the spring

I ordered this a few months ago and have used the heck out of it! It costs clean every time. I read the reviews and was hesitant when i read that it started making bad cuts after just a few uses. I have not had that problem. Very simple to change angles and they’re always perfect. The markings for the angles were not very visible so i just highlighted them with a silver marker. The foot print is small enough to leave it set up in my studio permanently. I would by this again!
