Be careful. Upon reviewing the description I looked under “Product Description” and then under “Position” and it’s says “Rear” So, I assumed they were for the rear rotors but they are actually for the Front Rotors. Also, the diagram for the front pads also gives no indication but the diagram on rear pads does. Luckily, I’m keeping my car long term so I’ll just use these when I’m ready.

Happy with the stopping power when combined with good rotors. Low dust and no squeaking after 7 months.

Went by manufacturer's part number lookup and had to find out at installation time they don't fit the car. Returned and ordered another set which fit but brake pad wear sensor is wrong gender so get constant brake pad warning.

Although I have only had these installed for about a month and cannot comment on their long term quality, so far, they have been outstanding. Zero noise and great feel from the pedal during moderate and hard breaking.

Fantastic, buy the entire set front and back you will not believe the braking. The only way you won't be impressed is if you have tires that can't match the stopping power of these pads, the only solution is then is to get better tires,... then you'll will be absolutely amazed.

Performance wise these pads are great. However they generate more dust than any pad I have ever seen. Certainly miss the old hps compound. This photo is after just 1500 miles of mixed driving. Pads have 8,000 miles on them now.

I drive a 2009 Gti in NYC. this car is no racecar but i do enjoy driving fast ive come into some close calls but i really feel these pads combined with some cross drilled Zimmerman rotors really saved my @55. I've only had these things on for about 9000 miles and am starting to feel less braking power. But i guess you cant have it all, i rather keep my life definitely ordering another pair.

Picked these up and installed them over the weekend. So far i've had about a weeks experience with them thus far. They feel great on hard braking very composed with my current brake setup. A noticeable difference over the stock pads on my 2010 Volkswagen CC. I do notice that they do dust more than the stock pads, but the bite seems to also be a bit more. I am getting a bit of squeaking, but that could also be the reuse of rotor, as well as still breaking in the pad. Overall i'm very happy and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set to replace these in the future.

I have a 2009 Volkswagen Tiguan with AWD and I installed these pads on all four corners with new rotors as well (specially treated rotors at that, which should give me an edge over stock performance). My feelings about the performance of the Hawks is very mixed, but overall I am not happy and I regret the purchase.I had read a minority of reviews here on Amazon that said the pads weren't all that great. And one in particular that stated the "bite" (initial grab) of the pads was disappointing compared to OEM. I bought the pads anyways, because the majority of reviews are positive and these are the pads that Tire Rack recommended to me.My goals in buying non-OEM pads were to increase braking performance (though I think the Tiguan's stock brakes are excellent and among the best of the cars I've owned), and reduce brake dust (or, ideally, eliminate it). These pads have accomplished the latter, but at the cost of initial bite and noise. Before I go further, I should note that I did follow Hawk's "bedding" procedure and now have at least 2000 miles on these pads.My disappointment with these pads comes from their weak performance when I first hit the brake pedal. With the OEM pads, there was instantaneous grabbing and the Tiguan felt like it could avoid any emergency. With these pads, there is now a vagueness in the pedal and I have to apply considerably more pressure before I get effective stopping power, than was necessary with the stock pads. And when I'm navigating a parking lot, I feel like I'm overshooting my braking targets, because I'm still piloting the car based on the responsiveness of the brakes with the original pads. I have had to adjust my braking behavior considerably. The same is true in bumper to bumper traffic, where I have sometimes come much closer to the person in front of me before the pads stopped the car than I find acceptable.Additionally, there are a lot of times when the pads make a very brief groaning noise during say the last foot of braking. This noise is similar to what I've heard on used cars that I had years ago, where the rotors and pads appeared to have some kind of film on them (which I was sometimes able to eliminate by sanding the pads and the rotors). But these are brand new pads and rotors! (And yes the new rotors were thoroughly washed before mounting, to remove any films or oils on them.)The pads also make noise at higher speeds. The frequently squeal when reaching a stop light. Sometimes it's a bit embarrassing. I know that really high performance pads regularly squeal and I was accustomed to it on my old '83 GTI that I put some killer pads on it (don't remember what they were, but they were incredible). But the stock Tiguan pads did a great job without this drawback. The one area that these pads do seem to excel compared to stock is in coming to a stop as fast as possible from high speed. On the occasions that I've really had to throw out the anchor on the parkway, to avoid stopped cars ahead, these pads have responded superbly. And likewise when I nail the brake pedal on an off-ramp, just for fun, they do a great job. I'm judging this aspect of performance entirely by the seat of my pants, so I can't honestly say if they perform better than stock in this regard. They could be no different, but they feel to me like they are a bit better.Performance pads are usually much better with fade than stock pads and I don't doubt that the same is true for these Hawks. But I'm not autocrossing with my Tig, so fade is not an issue in my life and I can't comment on this area of performance. These pads do indeed produce less dust on my alloy wheels than the stock pads. But frankly I would happily go back to the stock dust level, if I could get the stock performance back. So, overall, I am disappointed with these pads and I would not recommend buying them. I don't think their trade offs are worth it for the typical driver.
