Float switches work fine until the one time they don’t, getting stuck somehow and not running the pump. This happened during heavy rain, it was fine for hours until the one cycle it wasn’t. The float got stuck somehow and I got an inch of water in the basement. Upgraded to this controller and feel way more secure it won’t fail as the controls are digital with nothing to get stuck. Install is simple but takes some patience to adjust to your sump pit. The test switch makes it easy to check and confirm functioning pump. Great device for peace of mind.
