I purchased this as a gift for my husband. He had a similar seat installed at dealership when he purchased his 2016 HD Road King. He takes the seat off when he rides alone. Last time he took it off never saw it again. The replacement seat worked with the old bracket. Happy hubby!

This is comfortable. The adjustable shock broke the first month. Hubby took the adjustable shock completely out and made it a 'fixed' backrest. Works that way just fine.

Update 10/2/21. Had this 1 year now and not happy with it at all. This back rest does not stay in a upright position without you leaning against it all the time, once you get off the bike for 30 minutes or so it will be in a fully tilted forward position. I got tired of dealing with the seller to correct the problem, they kept wanting me to take a picture of the part that was the problem, its the part that the back rest slides into, it will not hold the back rest in a upright position without you against it.A friend of mine bought one for his Ultra at Harley-Davidson, he paid twice what I did for this one but his stays where he puts it, you get what you pay for.BUYERS BE WARE.Bought this for my 2020 HD Road Glide Limited and it fit great however here is a picture that people have mentioned about the spring that will cause damage to the seat. I just took a cut off wheel and carefully removed it, now it is not a problem at all. The worst part of this install was routing the cable and getting it mounted behind the left heat deflector, there is a plastic clip on that heat shield that holds a spark plug wire that I had to cut off, its in the way for mounting the bracket that the switch for adjusting the seat back and forth mounts in. Its a bugger to get that switch and heat deflector mounted back up. My kit was also missing a clip that is for holding that spark plug wire but it was not really needed. This back rest and mount appears to be identical to the one that Harley-Davidson sells with exception to the switch itself it is a bit different but works fine and was $200.00 less. By reaching into the slot in the seat a simple flip of a leaver and the back rest lifts right out when you want to remove it. A friend of mine has one that he bought from HD and it is identical to this one with exception to the switch for moving the back rest back and forth. Other then that spring issue this was a perfect fit on my 2020 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited. Would recommend this for your HARLEY-DAVIDSON.
